    Abstract: A pick and place machine having jaws which pick up a part at a loading ston and shift first horizontally and then vertically to place the part at a delivery station prior to releasing the part. By making a simple modification, the machine may be adapted to cause the jaws to move first vertically and then horizontally after picking up the part. In addition, the machine may be adapted to change the orientation of the part during its transfer between the stations and to deliver the part along paths of various shapes.
