Patents Assigned to Babson Brothers Company
  • Patent number: 3999516
Abstract: A milker with a milk receiving chamber for suspension beneath a cow has teat cups connected therewith for attachment to the cow's teats. A pulsation vacuum manifold, connected with the teat cups, is mounted to the cover of the milk receiving chamber by a coil spring, to accommodate movement of the cow. The manifold movement is limited by connecting the pulsation hose and the milk hose together.

  • Patent number: 3999518
Abstract: A milker support including a support structure adapted to support a milking unit within a stall and which may be moved downwardly in small increments during a milking process to optimize the height of the milking unit relative to the cow as the cow is being milked out. A reciprocal motor mounts the support structure and manual controls for the motor are provided whereby the initial height of the support structure may be adjusted. An automatic control is operative to cause the motor to progressively drive the support structure, and thus the milking unit, downwardly during a milking process.

  • Patent number: 3971720
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for separating from ruminant animal feces the undigested fibrous material that is preponderantly short pieces which consist of bundles of capillary tubes. The feces are mixed with urine, water from animal washing and preparation for milking, and with other water if needed, to form a homogeneous slurry which is run through tandem perforate drum and roller squeezers that heavily compress the short pieces to express liquid from them while continuously draining off a filtrate of liquid and fine solids which is ultimately put into a pond for use as liquid fertilizer. This leaves a filter mass which is preponderantly the short pieces The filter mass is mixed with clean water to form a suspension which is run through tandem perforate cylinder roller pressers that compress the short pieces under several times heavier pressure to produce a cleansed filter mass and a filtrate which is combined with the original slurry.
