Abstract: Method for automatically ascertaining the number of people and/or objects present in a gate (10; 50; 70) which has the following steps: detection of weight data for people and/or objects moving in the gate (10; 50; 70) by means of a plurality of weight sensors (18, 20, 22, 24) integrated in the floor of the gate (10; 50; 70) and evaluation of the detected weight data in order to ascertain the number of people/objects from their maximum values and from their dynamics and/or the number of detected centers of gravity and/or the position of the weight sensors (18, 20, 22, 24) which have detected the weight data, and/or the order in which the weight sensors (18, 20, 22, 24) have detected the weight data.

Abstract: A passage barrier (10) with two barrier elements (24, 26) and two mutually aligned shafts (16, 20) which are separate from each other and can be driven by separate motors (14, 22), whereby one barrier element (24, 26) is retained on each shaft (16, 20), and can be swivelled independent of the other barrier element (26, 24) by driving the corresponding shaft (16, 20).

Abstract: The present invention relates to an entrance barrier comprising a barrier element movable between an open and a closed position, driving means, by which the barrier element can driven from one position to the other position respectively, a control unit, by which the driving means are controllable, and a sensor unit connected to the control unit. The invention also relates to a barrier element for the entrance barrier and to method for operating the entrance barrier. To provide a possibility of further improving the safety of persons in the area of entrance barriers beyond the mere passive safety of the entrance barrier, the invention proposes for the sensor unit to include a capacitive sensor.

Abstract: An apparatus for emptying a cashbox, fare-box or the like, wherein the apparatus includes a right-parallelepiped-shaped casing and a cashbox including at least one slidable wall, wherein the casing has a container for inserting the cashbox so that this is positioned with the slidable wall facing downwards on a slider located in the casing of the apparatus, wherein the slider includes: a handle, a connecting apparatus for connection with the wall of the cashbox, and a blocking apparatus which allows the slider to be withdrawn from the casing into a withdrawn end position and then pushed in into a fully inserted end position but prevents any pushing in of the slider from any withdrawn position which does not correspond to the end position.

Abstract: In order to provide a procedure and a device that will enable the, at least partially, automated acceptance of bank notes that can be realized in an acceptable cost range and that will enable the highly automated, rapid acceptance of bank notes with a high level of certainty, a method, in which a test for the acceptability of bank notes is performed by automatic vending machines is proposed; by this method a bank note is fed via a transport unit to a digitalization station, where it is at least partially digitized; the data obtained in this manner are then compared with stored data by a computer unit, which makes a determination of value, and renders an automatic decision regarding acceptance. If the automatic decision regarding acceptance is negative, an image of the digitized data is generated in order to allow a service employee to perform a visual inspection of the note and render a final decision regarding acceptance.

An application may be configured by different originators differently based on sets of defined data groups and/or data structures from which the originator may select in implementing the application. Multiple applications of different types such as financial, health, transportation, etc. may be configured on user media to provide related services.

Abstract: To improve a device for protecting electronic circuits from unauthorized access so that it can be produced inexpensively, can be handled and guarantees increased security, the invention proposes a device for protecting electronic circuits from unauthorized access with at least one hood-type cover element, which is arranged on a circuit plate covering it at least in some areas and has tracks that can be connected to a detection circuit to detect mechanical damage, wherein the cover element is made of a material that is very hard and at the same time very brittle.

Abstract: A self-filling storage device for memory cards has at least one storage container having a storage compartment. The storage compartment has a common opening for receiving and releasing memory cards. A cover plate for covering the common opening is provided. The cover plates has a first face facing the storage compartment and a second face facing away from the storage compartment. The cover plate is further provided with a cutout. At least one separating roller is positioned in the storage container at the second face and has a first position in which the separating roller projects through the cutout into the storage compartment against a return force. The separating roller acts on a memory card positioned in the storage compartment at the first face or acts on a memory card positioned at the second face for insertion into the storage compartment.
