Patents Assigned to Badische Maschinenfabrik GmbH
  • Patent number: 4133372
Abstract: The apparatus comprises one or more blasting cabins through which are conveyed workpiece carriers in the form of grate bars secured only at one end to a conveyor chain. A shifting device transfers workpieces from a first to a second conveyor for a second pass through such cabin. A turning device turns the workpieces over during such transfer. Said device comprises a box which is rotated about a horizontal axis and chutes each workpiece onto the second conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4126176
Abstract: The molding machine has injection apparatus which operates with compressed air for filling a molding box with molding sand and pre-compacting the sand. Vents for escape of spent air from the molding box are provided in a filling frame, which rests on the molding box during filling and compaction, and may also be provided on the surface of a pattern plate carrier and in a pressure plate against which the sand is finally consolidated by pressure exerted through said carrier. Exhaust means for the spent air comprise an annular passage on the outside of the filling frame. The pressure plate is formed to define nozzles through which the sand is injected into the molding box. Means are described for supplying sand and compressed air, for conveying a succession of molding boxes and for mounting, lifting and lowering the pattern plate carrier and withdrawing the latter for replacement of the pattern.

  • Patent number: 4065943
Abstract: In a rotary ironing machine for applying treatments such as ironing, embossing and the like to sheet materials such as leather, cardboard and the like, the cylindrical ironing surface is provided on a thin-walled hollow cylinder, the sheet material is fed by a conveyor belt between said cylinder and an external pressure roller, a counter-pressure roller being provided within the cylinder. Radiation heating means are provided for the ironing surface, externally or preferably internally of the hollow cylinder. Said cylinder is supported by external or internal guide rollers which, together with the heating arrangement, are supported by a carrier which is disposed within the cylinder and is supported at only one end thereof. Other details are disclosed, including a retaining arrangement, for retaining and spreading the sheet material and stripping arrangements with oscillating stripper fingers.

  • Patent number: 4050505
Abstract: A jarring moulding machine having a table and impact receiving arrangement between the table and an anvil, which arrangement includes an annular impact member recessed into a surface of the anvil, and an impact insert of greater resilience than the impact member seated in an annular recess of step form at the inner periphery of the annular impact member. The top surface of the impact member projects slightly beyond of the anvil surface and the top surface of the impact insert projects slightly beyond of the top surface of the surrounding impact member so that the insert receives the impact before the impact member. The seating recess for the insert is undercut at the junction of its walls so as to leave a small clearance therebetween. The impact member may be of a polyethylene synthetic plastics material and the insert may be of rubbery polyurethane.

  • Patent number: 4048758
Abstract: A machine for blasting workpieces (castings) comprises an arcuate cabin with successive working stations within it. Two conveying systems are provided -- a central turntable with workpiece carriers which are rotatable about horizontal axes and extend into the cabin through a horizontal slot, and an overhead conveyor with workpiece reception hooks which extend through a slot in the roof of the cabin. The axes of the workpiece carriers on the turntable may be made capable of swivelling in a vertical plane. Various drive arrangements are described, including control by limit switches and a timing relay. Entry and exit lock chambers and door arrangements are described.

  • Patent number: 3983926
Abstract: Foundry moulding boxes are automatically clamped together or to a supporting plate by means of loose clamps (as distinct from clamps which are permanently fixed to a moulding box or to an individual carriage supporting the boxes) which are spring loaded and are brought by combined preloading and moving devices into the region of the parts which are to be clamped by allowing the springs to relax and transmit the preload to those parts via abutment members of the clamps which engage therewith. The clamps are carried by respective stirrups which are pivotably attached to a mobile carriage running on rails to convey the clamps from an unclamping station to a clamping station where the clamps are left in clamping engagement with a pair of moulding boxes while the stirrups return with the carriage to remove the clamps from another such pair. The stirrups incorporate drives for preloading the clamps and opening up the gap between the abutment members.

  • Patent number: 3964733
Abstract: Mixer for molding sand and the like having a stationary smooth mixer bowl with a central tool located at the bottom thereof for imparting rotational movement to the sand being mixed in the bowl. Extending downwardly from above into the sand being mixed are a plurality of centrifugal tools located eccentrically with respect to the axis of the bowl. These centrifugal tools are rotated in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the central tool. The radially extending vanes of the central tool are configured with respect to the plurality of centrifugal tools such that only one vane is in simultaneous facing relationship to any of the centrifugal tools during mixing operations. The centrifugal tools are rotated about axes extending obliquely with respect to the axis of rotation of the central tool so that the spacing of the centrifugal tools from the axis of the central tool is larger at the top than at the bottom.
