Abstract: A connector of instant set-up foldable tent frame articular includes an upper joint and a lower joint. The upper joint has (a) brackets to be connected with a lower joint, engaging portions formed at the lower end portion of said brackets for engagement with a locking lever, (c) a sloped surface formed between said brackets, and (d) a collar. The lower joint has (a) a connecting portion to be connected to said upper joint by insertion between said brackets, and (b) a sloped surface formed at the upper surface of said connecting portion. The articular connector is characterized in that the connecting portion of the lower joint is connected to the upper joint by insertion between said brackets of the upper joint by means of pin holes and a pin enabling said two joints to perform articular operations. A method of using the connector of instant set-up foldable tent frame is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a leg support for an instant set-up foldable tent for bracing the tent poles firmly against the ground. A preferred embodiment includes a tripodal structure formed at the lower portion of leg poles, wherein an elastic, tubular brace having a longitudinal slit in a sectional shape of the letter “C” is provided with two tubular brackets fixed aslant to said tubular brace to hold a reinforcing legs in said tubular brackets. The tubular brace can be fixed onto a leg pole by simply pressing it against the leg pole at its slit. One end of each reinforcing leg is inserted into each of said two tubular brackets to make a tripodal leg structure, which is placed at each corner of the tent when pitched. With the reinforced brace of the leg pole thus made, the tent eaves at each corner can be made higher with a resultant increase in the headroom in the pitched tent.

In this instant setup foldable tent, while retaining the advantages of the instant setup foldable tent such as speediness and convenience, a tent detachable means is provided, making it possible to attach and detach the tent to and from the tent frame, enabling the user to pitch the tent or the fly selectively or both, thus promoting the usefulness of the tent. The instant setup foldable tent includes a plurality of foldable tent frames secured to a hub, and a tent cloth is coupled to the plurality of the foldable tent frames by a plurality of hooks. The tent includes a tent detachable means attached between a lower portion of the tent cloth and a lower portion of each pole of the foldable tent frames making it possible to attach and detach the test cloth to and from the frames, leaving tent frame untouched; and further includes a pole-securing means provided for the poles to be secure to the ground firmly.

Abstract: An improvement of a foldable tent frame, and particularly an improvement of joint portion is disclosed. The foldable tent frame includes a plurality of frame member segments 10 and a plurality of joint portions 11 to be coupled with each other through an injection molding using a molding die. The frame member segment 10 and the joint portion 11 are characterized in that the frame member segment is provided with a channel shape recess 17 having two side walls 19 and 19a and a planar bottom 18, and that the frame member segment is further provided with an elongate conical end portion, whereby the joint portion and the frame member segment are firmly integrally attached together. Thus a loose rotation of the joint portion relative to the frame member segment, or a detachment of the joint portion from the frame member segment is prevented, thereby providing a strong frame to support the tent.

Abstract: A tent cover retaining device is disclosed for tents having an exterior frame supporting a tent fabric. A hook extends integrally from each frame member, adjacent to a folding joint, and a rubber string secured to the tent cover is connected to the hook. This prevents the tent cover from slipping down when the frame members adjacent to the joint are folded with the joint upward. The tent cover of the folded tent is stabilized in position and is not permitted to slide loosely on the tubular tent frame component. This is particularly important when the tent is re-erected and the frame is unfolded.
