Abstract: Techniques for tracking a straight line object by creating a detection envelope between two detections selected from temporally-discontinuous frames are discussed. The detections within the detection envelope can then be analyzed in order to determine whether they are associated with a straight line track between the outer detections of the envelope. Techniques for identifying a launch-flash are also discussed. Potential launch flashes are checked for energy duration, intensity and spectral ratio. Techniques for detecting a hostile fire based on a single-frame detection are additionally detected. Based on a frame length of the detection, it can be determined whether the detection correlates to a hostile fire.

Abstract: A system and method for projecting target tracks produced by a remote tracker onto a surface of the Earth to obtain projected tracks is provided. Projection bias in a projected track from the remote tracker projected onto a planar map is removed by computing a discrete Frechet distance from a polygonal curve associated with a track derived from the remote tracker to a corresponding polygonal curve on the planar map. A correspondence between the projected track and a track on the planar map is automatically established. A projection bias is removed based on the correspondence.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a method, a system, and a computer readable medium for maintaining detection capability when a frame is corrupted. A plurality of data points of a multispectral gain in a frame is monitored. It is determined that the frame is corrupted by analyzing the plurality of data points. When the frame is corrupted, a single spectrum threat detection system is used instead of a multispectral threat detection system.

Abstract: An evanescent-mode cavity filter with an improved MEMS tuner design is disclosed. The MEMS tuner design allows for the independent control of individual poles in a multi-pole filter, which increases the adaptability of the filter in a crowded RF environment. The filter is further designed to minimize tuning voltages and hysteresis effects. A closed loop control system provides highly responsive tuning of the filter. The closed loop control allows for accurate and stable tuning that compensates for temperature and vibrational effects, while the tuner design enables fast tuning and significantly increases the resolution of the feedback measurement by eliminating charge buildup in the tuner substrate.

Abstract: The system and method of utilizing frequency waterfilling and implicit coordination to mitigate signal jamming in Link 16 systems. The system and method of utilizing frequency waterfilling for Link 16 includes updates to both software and firmware. The frequency waterfilling approach for Link 16 modifies the process by which data bits are allocated to hops based on an assessment of hops affected by jamming, thus avoiding portions of the spectrum occupied by a jammer.

Abstract: A process for allowing a Concurrent Multi-Netting (CMN-4) equipped Link 16 terminal to enter an active network. After an initial entry command is entered at the terminal at a given current time at the terminal, a number of time slots are identified in which multiple receivers at the terminal have an opportunity to detect an initial entry message (IEM) after the given current time. Each of the receivers is set to detect an IEM during a different one of the identified time slots. When an IEM is first detected by one of the receivers, the current time at the terminal is reset based on the time slot in which the IEM was detected.

Abstract: A method for implementing interference mitigation in wireless network such as a Link 16 network does not require interference recognition and does not degrade signal detection even in the absence of interference. An unmitigated correlation score is obtained by correlating received, unmitigated preamble symbols with expected symbols. At least one of the input signals is also correlated after mitigation to obtain a mitigated signal. A mitigated correlation sore is obtained from the mitigated signals, and a mixed correlation score is obtained by combining mitigated and unmitigated signals. A signal is detected if any of the correlation scores exceeds a corresponding threshold. Embodiments use the unmitigated correlation for subsequent message time of arrival determination if the unmitigated correlation score is above its detection threshold. In embodiments, mitigation is applied to only one of the message frequencies.

Additionally, rather than being formed from discrete components, the conductors of this wideband low noise amplifier are formed from microwave monolithic integrated circuits to provide for greater efficiency, which enables the low noise amplifier to operate in wideband rather than narrowband. A method of using the same is also provided.

Abstract: Frequency divider techniques are disclosed which can be used to address two problems: when an incorrect division occurs if the modulus control changes before the divide cycle is complete, and when an incorrect division occurs due to a boundary crossing (e.g., power-of-2 boundary crossing in a fractional-N PLL application). In one embodiment, a frequency divider is provided comprising a plurality of flip-flops operatively coupled to carry out division of an input frequency, and configured to generate a modulus output and receive a divided clock signal of a previous cell. An additional flip-flop is selectively clocked off one of the modulus output or the divided clock of the previous stage, depending at least in part on a Skip control signal applied to a data input of the additional flip-flop, and is further configured to selectively reset the plurality of flip-flops to a state that will result in a correct divide ratio.
