Patent number: 8837774Abstract: A system and method for finding real terrain matches in a stereo image pair is presented. A method for finding differences of underlying terrain between a first stereo image and a second stereo image includes performing epipolar rectification on a stereo image pair to produce rectified image data. The method performs a hybrid stereo image matching on the rectified image data to produce image matching data. A digital surface model (DSM) is generated based on the image matching data. Next, the method identifies areas in the DSM where the stereo image matching should fail based on the image matching data and the DSM to generate predicted failures. The method can then determine real terrain changes based on the predicted failures and the image matching data.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2011Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventors: Michael Walter, Bingcai Zhang

Patent number: 8744025Abstract: Methods, systems and other embodiments associated with pre-processing a signal for spectral analysis are presented. A system for pre-processing a digital input signal includes a digital down converter (DDC), an interpolator, and a series of down samplers. The DDC modulates the digital input signal to create a down converted signal. The interpolator re-samples the down converted signal to produce a re-sampled signal. The series of down samplers produces down sampled signals. The multiplexer selects one of the digital input signal, the down converted signal, and the down sampled signals and routes the selected signal to an output line.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2010Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Patent number: 8578463Abstract: A system and method for allowing for distributed interaction in a computing scenario is presented. The system is powered by SandTable software. First and Second items are respectively displayed on interactive screens of first and second surface computers. A first token is configured to be placed on the interactive screen of one of the computers and that computers reads its credentials. The SandTable software determines a first access level of the first token based on the credentials of the first token when it is placed on the surface computer. The first surface computer displays an image of an add item symbol when the first token is authenticated as a valid token. The SandTable software is configured to detect when the add item symbol is selected and to generate a menu of new items. SandTable creates a new item based on the new item selected from the menu.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventor: Howard Kee

Patent number: 8260085Abstract: A method for fusion of image block adjustments for the generation of a ground control network constituting a Metric Information Network (MIN). Utilizing the subject. fusion algorithm it is possible to duplicate the results of an extremely large simultaneous image block adjustment by sequentially performing smaller image block adjustments on small overlapping areas of interest and taking the results to update a metric information network. Note, intermediate results for less than all the imagery provide usable updates to the metric information network. The result of the infusion of sequential image block adjustments into the metric information network is that one can obtain the accuracy provided by an extremely large single image block adjustment, and do so in manageable chunks or segments involving conventional computer resources.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2009Date of Patent: September 4, 2012Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventor: John T. Publication number: 20120144227Abstract: An approach to detection and repair of application level semantic errors in deployed software includes inferring aspects of correct operation of a program. For instance, a suite of examples of operations that are known or assumed to be correct are used to infer correct operation. Further operation of the program can be compared to results found during correct operation and the logic of the program can be augmented to ensure that aspects of further examples of operation of the program are sufficiently similar to the examples in the correct suite. In some examples, the similarity is based on identifying invariants that are satisfied at certain points in the program execution, and augmenting (e.g., “patching”) the logic includes adding tests to confirm that the invariants are satisfied in the new examples. In some examples, the logic invokes an automatic or semi-automatic error handling procedure if the test is not satisfied.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2010Publication date: June 7, 2012Applicants: BAE Systems Information Solutions, Inc., Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyInventors: Jeff Herbert Perkins, Stylianos Sidiroglou, Martin Conway Rinard, Eric Patrick Lahtinen, Paolo Mario Piselli, Basil C. Patent number: 8164498Abstract: A system and method for clocking in analog-to-digital (ADC) converter in a synthetic instrument unit is presented. A method begins by applying an input clock to an amplifier to produce an amplified clock. The amplified clock is filtered to produce a filtered clock. The ADC of this synthetic instrument unit is clocked with the filtered clock. The input frequency of the ADC corresponds to a second or higher order Nyquist zone that is above the sampling frequency of the ADC. The input data is carried by an intermediate frequency (IF) signal. The filtered clock of ADC is switched off a clock path of the ADC when the ADC is not in use.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2010Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventor: Anthony J. Patent number: 8123405Abstract: Systems and methods relating to programmable circuits are described. Several embodiments relate to systems and methods for controlling the long-term stability and accuracy of circuits that produce waveforms varying in frequency and amplitude. Such embodiments may include a circuit comprising a common vacuum environment that houses a pair of heater-thermocouples. The circuit may compare signals outputted by each heater-thermocouple and then may produce a resultant value based on the comparison. The resultant value may be used by the circuit to control the long-term stability and accuracy of the circuit. Such control of the long-term stability and accuracy of the circuit may include drift compensation associated with certain components of the circuit.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2007Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions Inc.Inventor: Roger J. Patent number: 7937757Abstract: A trusted computer system that offers Linux® compatibility and supports contemporary hardware speeds. It is designed to require no porting of common applications which run on Linux, to be easy to develop for, and to allow the use of a wide variety of modern development tools. The system is further designed to meet or exceed the Common Criteria EAL-5 or higher rating through incorporation of required security features, as well as a very high level of assurance for handling data at a wide range of sensitivity (e.g., classification) levels in a wide range of operational environments. This is achieved through the implementation of a well-layered operating system which has been designed from the ground up to enforce security, but which also supports Linux operating system functions and methods.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2006Date of Patent: May 3, 2011Assignee: BAE Systems Information Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Michael W.
