  • Patent number: 8138969
Abstract: A radar warning receiver is implemented in low cost integrated circuit form utilizing only one analog component, namely a limiting amplifier. By taking the output of the limiting amplifier and utilizing monobit sampling of the output it has been found that one can provide an integrated circuit single chip radar warning receiver using delay correlation to extract frequency, amplitude and modulation type from signals at or below the noise level.

  • Publication number: 20120066169
Abstract: Disclosed is a trust management system for decision fusion in a network. The trust management system includes a detection subsystem having a plurality of sensors, and a plurality of channels. Each sensor of the plurality of sensors detects one of an occurrence and a non-occurrence of an event in the network. The trust management system further includes a fusion subsystem communicably coupled to the detection subsystem through the plurality of channels for receiving a decision of the each sensor and iteratively assigning a pre-determined weightage. The fusion subsystem ascertains a summation of respective decisions of the plurality of sensors and compares the weighted summation with a corresponding decision of the each sensor. The fusion subsystem further updates the assigned pre-determined weightage and determines the presence of the each sensor being one of a compromised sensor and a non-compromised sensor. Further disclosed is a method for decision fusion in a network.

  • Patent number: 8134885
Abstract: Memory design techniques are disclosed that provide a high compression ratio at no loss in speed. The techniques can be embodied, for instance, in heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) based ROMs. By embedding compression logic (e.g., XOR) functionality directly into the address decoders and sense amplifiers of the memory device, a high compression ratio is achieved at no loss in speed. For example, the logic-based compression functionality can be directly implemented into the buffers that form the address decoder as well as the sense amplifiers.

  • Patent number: 8135372
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for eliminating or otherwise sufficiently suppressing spurious signals. The techniques are particularly useful in applications such as those that employ aggressor frequency sources along with a frequency conversion or mixing function, and especially applications implemented as a system-on-chip. In the spur-training mode, a spur-canceller circuit identifies spurious tones associated with the host system to neutralize those tones when running in a normal mode. The tones are neutralized using a comb generator with variable phase and gain by way of cancellation with comb output signals having substantially the same amplitude and a phase that is 180° out of phase with the aggressor tone to be cancelled.

  • Patent number: 8134778
Abstract: A Mersenne-Cassegrain telescope provided in a single block of glass in which opposed parabolic elements are precision milled through diamond turning of a glass boule, with the magnification power of the telescope determined by the differences in focal length between the two parabolas. The result is a volumetrically small telescope with pre-aligned surfaces that are maintained by the structural rigidity of the glass itself and in which thermal coefficients of expansion, vibration and the like have no effect due to the single glass element structure.

  • Patent number: 8132491
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for detecting and disabling a human eye or optical device used in the fire control of a weapon. This apparatus comprises a prism having a plurality of peripheral reflective surface. This prism has a longitudinal axis and rotating about said longitudinal axis. There is also an infrared IR detector which detects the IR retroreflected laser beam reflected from the prism. A visible light wavelength laser which produces a visible light wavelength laser beam which is reflected from the prism to the human eye or optical device to disable the human eye or optical device to prevent use of the weapon.

  • Publication number: 20120051475
Abstract: A QR-RLS adaptive digital filter provides fast computation without excessive computational resources. 18-bit multipliers enhance speed, and a floating point inverse square root block adjusts dynamic range in 12-dB steps. A memory stores two P-matrix copies, one being delivered with rows shifted according to the clock speed so as to enhance pipeline processing. Embodiments reliably detect modulation schemes, demodulate strong signals by passing feedback bits between multiple stages, remove impulses due to lightening, etc, erase symbol estimates which exceed an error threshold, and add high frequency noise to avoid mathematical divergence caused by excessive S/N. A genetic method is provided for identifying asynchronous spreading codes with minimum correlations, whereby randomly selected candidates compete based on Frobenius norms of their correlations, the weakest being discarded and the process being iterated.

  • Patent number: 8123405
Abstract: Systems and methods relating to programmable circuits are described. Several embodiments relate to systems and methods for controlling the long-term stability and accuracy of circuits that produce waveforms varying in frequency and amplitude. Such embodiments may include a circuit comprising a common vacuum environment that houses a pair of heater-thermocouples. The circuit may compare signals outputted by each heater-thermocouple and then may produce a resultant value based on the comparison. The resultant value may be used by the circuit to control the long-term stability and accuracy of the circuit. Such control of the long-term stability and accuracy of the circuit may include drift compensation associated with certain components of the circuit.

Each conductor of a transmission line we define as a segment. Two segments of one transmission line are charged and switchably coupled to two segments of the other transmission line to produce a bipolar pulse on the matched load. This bipolar pulse generator may be implemented in a flat or a folded design. The generator may include two transmission line structures coupled together with a load positioned between each transmission line structures. The first transmission line structure may include a stepped transmission line and an embedded transmission line segment. A switch may be coupled between the embedded transmission line segment and another segment of the transmission line structure.

  • Patent number: 8120524
Abstract: Whether or not the CW radar is utilized for through-the-wall detection, additional one or more sensors are used with the CW radar to confirm the motion detection result or to in fact turn on the CW radar once motion or the physical presence of an individual has been sensed, thereby to provide confirmation of a less-reliable sensor with the use of the more reliable CW radar. Thus, the addition of other sensors provides lower power consumption, lower false alarm rates and better discrimination and classification of moving objects.

  • Patent number: 8115519
Abstract: A phase accumulator generates phase data for a direct digital synthesis (DDS) device based on a reference phase to provide analog sinusoidal outputs that are locked to the reference phase and thus phase coherent. The frequency of a sinusoidal DDS output may be controlled by changing a frequency control word (FCW) provided to the phase accumulator without affecting the incrementing reference phase. The sinusoidal DDS output is based on a multiple of the FCW and the reference phase and thus remains locked to the reference phase, providing phase coherency even when the FCW changes to change the frequency.
