The fused mid-IR fiber tapered combiner arranges a bundle of fibers in a geometric arrangement to reduce the diameter of a plurality of mid-IR fibers to match or equal the diameter of a single multimode mid-IR fiber. The mid-IR fibers carry light produced and emitted from semiconductor light sources.

    Abstract: A mounting mechanism is disclosed. The mounting mechanism includes a base, a clamp and a lever. The base includes a lever keeper and a first rail-engaging surface. The clamp includes a second rail-engaging surface. The lever, which includes a lever tab, is connected to the clamp at a pivot to allow an operator to selectively place the clamp in an engaged position or a disengaged position. The lever is configured to move the clamp to the engaged position to allow a rail projection to be secured in a mounting cavity located between the first rail-engaging surface of the base and the second rail-engaging surface of the clamp. When in the engaged position, the lever tab located on the lever is configured to be engaged with the lever keeper located on the base in order to prevent the lever from swinging away from the clamp.

    Abstract: A radar signal target detection and display system employs feedback to produce improved detection and tracking. Portions of the radar images for each antenna channel to search for the target of interest are defined using the track state to define the center of the search region and using the track covariance matrix to define the size of the region. Moving reference processing (MRP) is performed. MRP employs a search centered on the motion state derived from the detection sent to the tracker on the previous coherent processing interval (CPI). Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is employed on each CPI using a unique set of adaptive degrees of freedom (DOFs) derived from pre-MRP and post-MRP complex radar image amplitudes for each antenna channel.

The analysis may compensate for motion of the asset and sensors. The system may further include an object classification circuit configured to classify the object as an object of interest, based on the analyzed motion of the object, and as a threat, further based on size estimation, edge detection, surface texture analysis, and volume analysis. The range from the asset to the object may be estimated based on the relation of the object to a detected or estimated horizon line.

Each signal injector causes one of a predetermined number of voltages to be coupled to that readout line. An exposure for each of the pixel sensors is determined during image recording periods. The signal injectors inject a plurality of calibration voltages into the readout lines during calibration periods, and determines a gain function of an amplifier in one of the column processing circuits by measuring an output of the amplifier for the plurality of calibration voltages, the calibration period is between the imaging recording periods.

    Abstract: A profiling approach for determining a path for an aircraft, using a method comprising the steps of determining at least two waypoints between a starting position and a desired terminal position for the aircraft, determining a path for the aircraft between the starting position and the terminal position, by performing a linear approximation of the heights of the waypoints such that the average height change between waypoints is minimized, and constrained by a maximum climb angle of said aircraft, and performing a linear approximation of arrival times for each of the waypoints and aircraft speeds between the waypoints, constrained by permissible velocity of said aircraft on the slope between the waypoints. In this way, the non-linear relationship between climb rate and speed is approximated with linear equations, because determination of the path between each set of two waypoints is broken into two linear problems.
