Abstract: A spindle mounted accessory holder block is fixed to extend across the nose of the tool machine at a spaced location from the main bore of the rotatable spindle in which the main operating device is positioned. The block has an outer face with a plurality of seats defined therein each being spaced at a specific radial distance from the main bore and each providing a mounting for a pin holder of an accessory mechanism. For this purpose the block is provided with two or more inwardly extending seats each having holes therein forming passages providing the connection for a medium associated with the accessory, for example, compressed air or similar fluid. The holes in the seats of the block provide means for mounting a pin or pipe connection for the accessory which may be positioned at a spaced radial location from the main operating mechanism by mounting it in a selective hole of the block.
Abstract: An apparatus for connection to a machine tool having a rotating head and a fixed part is capable of automatically moving a cutting tool radially while a spindle carrying the cutting tool rotates. The apparatus includes a body which is engageable to the tool machine so as to remain fixed with respect to a central axis. A spindle is rotatably mounted to the body and is connected to the head of the tool machine for rotation. A slide holder is fixed to the spindle and carries a toolholder for sliding movement in a radial direction with respect to the central axis. An electric motor is mounted in the non-rotating body and drives a gear train which can radially move the toolholder while the spindle, slide holder and toolholder rotate. A position transducer is engaged with the electric motor for determining its position and thus the position of the toolholder on the spindle.
Abstract: A distributor body is idly mounted on the toolholder through rolling bearing means and a connector for feeding coolant even during the rotation; an off-center piston member on the distributor body and with a passage for the coolant is able to match the coolant plug on the machine nose; the piston can slide to engage and respectively disengage the toolholder and the distributor body upon the drawing out and respectively the fitting of the group from and into the machine spindle.
