Patent number: 11175136Abstract: A construction laser includes a base. The base includes a flat bottom surface that can be disposed on a work surface. There is a laser projector secured to the base. The laser projector includes a laser generator. The laser projector projects a laser beam onto the work surface when the flat bottom surface is disposed on the work surface. The construction laser also includes a pin. The pin secured to the base and being pivotable about an axis relative to the base.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2018Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: Stanley Balck & Decker Inc.Inventor: Eric Ranieri

Patent number: 7814986Abstract: A powered hammer includes a housing, a tool holder coupled to the housing and configured to hold a tool, a motor within the housing, a cylinder disposed within the housing, and a piston slideably mounted within the cylinder. A drive mechanism converts rotary output of the motor into a reciprocating motion of the piston. The drive mechanism includes a crank shaft rotationally driven by the motor, a drive pin eccentrically mounted on the crank shaft, and a con rod with a first end connected to the drive pin and a second end connected to the piston. A ram is slideably mounted forward of the piston that is reciprocatingly driven by the piston. A beat piece is slideably mounted forward of the ram. The beat piece is repetitively struck by the reciprocating ram, which in turn repetitively strikes an end of the tool when held in the tool holder to transfer the momentum of the ram to the tool. Lubrication fluid covers at least part of the drive mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2008Date of Patent: October 19, 2010Assignee: Balck & Decker Inc.Inventors: Ulrich Berghauser, Andreas Friedrich, Harcar Frantisek

Patent number: 7789168Abstract: The disclosure describes a handle assembly for a power tool that includes attachment means for attaching the assembly to a housing of a power tool. The handle means is adapted to be held by a user of the power tool and the handle means is mounted to the attachment means and is capable of limited movement relative to the housing of the power tool. The vibration damping means acts between said housing and said handle means. The vibration damping means can also comprise elastomeric material. The attachment means can be mounted in use to the housing via a bolt on one of the attachment means and the housing passing through a respective aperture in the other of said attachment means and the housing. At least some of the elastomeric material is arranged in use between at least one said bolt and a corresponding said aperture. The handle means can be pivotable and/or slidable relative to said attachment means. The vibration damping means can comprise at least one spring (e.g., compression/spring or torsion spring).Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2008Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Assignee: Balck & Decker Inc.Inventors: Reimund Becht, Norbert Hahn, Michael Stirm, Ralf Seebauer

Patent number: 7646155Abstract: A method for controlling the operation of a motor utilizing a generic motor control module. The method includes sampling at least one motor operating criterion during operation of the motor and executing a generic control algorithm at a predetermined periodic interval. Execution of the algorithm provides a firing angle, duty cycle, or other suitable control function solution for an electronic valve for each periodic interval, thereby controlling the behavior of the motor. Additionally, the method includes firing the electronic valve at the calculated timing during each periodic interval such that the motor functions in accordance with desired motor operational parameters.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2005Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignee: Balck & Decker Inc.Inventors: Samuel G Woods, Michael K Forster, John C Vanko, Daniele C Brotto, Brian R Crowell, Jason K Leh
