Publication number: 20140039977Abstract: A data visualisation system is disclosed that includes a retrieval component, a display component, and a contour generator. The retrieval component is configured to retrieve data representing interactions between customers and the merchant, and to construct a finite set of data values from the retrieved data. The display component is configured to display a graphical representation of a merchant and a graphical representation of each of the set of data values represented as data points. The contour generator is configured to generate and display one or more contour lines at least partly around each data point to form a contoured surface, in which the areas of representation around each data point are shown in a series of contour lines, and the nature of the contour lines gradually fans away from each data point. Each data point is vertex of the contoured surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2013Publication date: February 6, 2014Applicant: Bally Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Andrew John Cardno, Grant Frederick Margison, Michael John Douglas Hornsby

Publication number: 20090275410Abstract: Techniques are describe for providing group play events with multiple game devices. Group play events are triggered by any game device that qualifies to participate, so that when any qualifying game device triggers a group play event, all qualifying game devices participate in the group play event. In some situations, a probability for triggering a group play event is adjusted to accommodate for a dynamically changing number of game devices that qualify over time.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2008Publication date: November 5, 2009Applicant: Bally Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Kisenwether, Jeff Mincey, Loren Nelson

Publication number: 20090275411Abstract: Techniques are described for providing group play bonus events with multiple game devices. A group play bonus event is initiated based in part on the occurrence of a group play bonus event trigger. End users of game devices participate in an initiated group play bonus event if the end users qualify to participate in the group play bonus event at the time of the occurrence of the group play bonus event trigger. In some situations, group play bonus events are initiated by the occurrence of a randomly generated group play bonus event trigger.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2008Publication date: November 5, 2009Applicant: Bally Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Kisenwether, Jeff Mincey, Loren Nelson

Publication number: 20070054740Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for linking a plurality of independent networks to a single central control system. In one embodiment, a casino accounting and reporting processing system provides a common back end to a plurality of networks. In one embodiment, the central server is coupled to at least one network using the same protocol so that no translation or interface is necessary. One or more other networks are coupled to the central server via an interface for translating communications and commands from the independent network to the host network protocol. In one embodiment, the interface is implemented using a standard interface referred to as “S2S”. An advantage of the invention is that it can be used to provide a common user interface, common accounting and security, and common player tracking management.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2006Publication date: March 8, 2007Applicant: Bally Technologies, Inc.Inventors: David Salls, James Morrow

Patent number: 7100916Abstract: An electromechanical indicator including a body with an axis of rotation. The rotary body is provided with a number of segments radiating from the axis of rotation which are associated with at least two different indicia. A motor is coupled to the rotary body such that the rotary body is adapted for a rotating mode and a stationary mode about the axis of rotation. A pointer associated with the rotary body is adapted to point to a predetermined segment of the number of segments when the rotary body is in the stationary mode. A segment detector detects a rotary position of each of the number of segments. In operation, the motor rotates the rotary body to point the pointer to the predetermined segment.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2003Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Bally Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Bryan Kelly, Norman Petermeier, Matthew Kelly, J.
