Patent number: 4502589Abstract: A method and apparatus for making packets of rotor or stator sheets for electrical machinery. At a certain station to which a preselected number of sheets are delivered, the sheets are both aligned and joined together. Aligning is effected by an aligning device which includes aligning pins which move into openings in the sheets. While the sheets are still at the aligning station, joining means effect joining together of the sheets. The joining means may include a piston pressed into the opening in the sheets and/or a device for welding the sheets together. At a packet receiving station before the aligning and joining station relatively high stacks of sheets are placed into magazine baskets suspended from a central turntable member. A piston pushes a predetermined number of such sheets upwardly through its respective basket into a receiving head which carries those sheets to the aligning and joining station. The finished packets are then carried by the aligning joining means to a discharging station.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1982Date of Patent: March 5, 1985Assignee: Balzer and Droll KGInventor: Karl-Heinz Fichtner

Patent number: 4393904Abstract: Apparatus for winding stators or the like includes a winding form and a winding nozzle, rotatable about the form, for winding a wire on the form. A collecting tool or transfer tool is provided for receiving windings from the form, a stripper is provided to strip windings from the form onto the collecting tool and a clamping means is provided for clamping a wire between individual winding operations. The apparatus includes means for simultaneously moving the winding nozzle, stripping means and clamping means during the stripping of the windings from the form onto the collecting tool. Thus, the wire from the last-wound windings will be prevented from being drawn to a finer diameter when stripped from the form or it will not be necessary to pull additional wire out of the winding nozzle in which event, on starting the next winding process, there would be a strong jerk which could result in breakage.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1980Date of Patent: July 19, 1983Assignee: Balzer & Droll KGInventor: Willi Muskulus

Patent number: 4373257Abstract: A process and device for forming the winding core of a stator or rotor. The winding core is only partially exposed to shaping pressure. Shaping is then continued progressively over the core periphery. A device for effecting the method includes a single or multipartite pressing tool for the winding core. The tool is rotatable relative to the long axis of a stator or rotor. In a preferred embodiment, the tool has a narrow shaping part positioned adjacent to a wrapping tool used to provide a wrapping about the shaped coil.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1980Date of Patent: February 15, 1983Assignee: Balzer & Droll, KGInventor: Josef Muller

Patent number: 4265012Abstract: Apparatus for collecting windings in a stator or the like includes a collecting tool having collecting lamellae disposed in a ring, an aligning star piece, and means for moving the aligning star piece from a retracted position to an alignment position between the lamellae. The apparatus also includes means for moving a stator sheet packet having an aperture therethrough into position with the aperture adjacent the free ends of the lamellae. In accordance with the invention, the apparatus includes means for moving the aligning star piece from its retracted position through the aperture in the sheet packet and then into its alignment position to align the stator sheet packet and the ring of lamellae. The apparatus has many advantages over conventional devices in which the aligning star piece is first aligned with the ring of lamellae and in which the stator sheet packet is subsequently applied and aligned.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1979Date of Patent: May 5, 1981Assignee: Balzer & Droll KGInventor: Willi Muskulus

Patent number: 4152103Abstract: A device for baking self-bond coil wires with one another and with a support on which a coil of the self-bond coil wires is supported. The coils are moved relative to a pressing means, such as a mold, and are heated prior to being pressed by the pressing mold. The heated wires are thus pressed and cooled at the same time thereby permitting rapid operation. The coils are convenient loaded sequentially onto a moveable conveyor member for movement to a pressing station. The coils are heated while being moved to the pressing station such as by passing electrical current through the wire of the coil. After pressing, each coil is removed from the conveyor member and a fresh coil is loaded on the conveyor for processing.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1977Date of Patent: May 1, 1979Assignee: Balzer & Droll KGInventor: Reinhard H.
