Abstract: A cover locking device for a bait cast reel for easily detaching the cover which is assembled at one side of the reel body so as to rotatably receive one end of the spool shaft of a spool on which a fishing line is wound. The cover locking device comprises a first spring located in a first recess formed in the reel body, a locking member received in the first recess and biassed by the first spring to protrude outwardly from the first recess, and a button received in a second recess formed in an outer surface of the cover. A pressing member projects from the button and is inserted in a guide hole to contact the locking member which extends into a third recess in the cover. The guide hole connects the second and third recesses. A stopper on the pressing member prevents the pressing member from escaping from the third recess. When the button is pressed, the locking member is displaced from the third recess to unblock rotation of the cover and enable its unlatching from the reel body.

Abstract: A structurally improved double-bearing fishing reel is disclosed. In the fishing reel, the magnet unit is mounted in opposition to and spaced apart from the conductive wheel of the spool and radially moves relative to the conductive wheel thus adjusting the gap between the magnet and the conductive wheel and preventing backlash of the reel. The above magnet unit reduces the axial size of the reel and achieves the recent trend of being a compact and light reel. As the magnet unit is placed in a conductive wheel receiving magnetic case, the magnetic line of force is prevented from leaking. The present invention also reduces the number of parts of a holding unit, that is used for holding both a handle shaft and a spool shaft bearing, thus reducing the cost of the reel.

Abstract: A fishing reel with a drag sound generating portion produces click sounds when a fish has been hooked. In the drag sound generating portion, a drag cap has spring holder rods for a plate spring. For positive click generation by a click spring in a spool operation sound generating portion, a crank handle joining portion is securely fastened without gap between a rotary shaft and a driving shaft.
