  • Publication number: 20110166975
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products provide for monitoring activities related to Automated Clearing House (ACH) processing and, in specific embodiments, monitoring activities related to ACH in processing in shared ACH processing environment in which two or more financial institutions share access to the shared ACH processing platform. The monitoring provides for determining that events associated with a respective monitored ACH processes trigger a respective alarm, generating the alarm messages based on the triggering events and providing for computer network access to results of the monitoring including the one or more alarm messages. As such the present invention provides real-time visibility to process owners regarding the health of their processes. Thereby, allowing the process owners the ability to address processing problems as they occur and mitigate overall risk involved in the processing.

  • Publication number: 20110166986
Abstract: A financial institution may determine a first mortgage opportunity for a banking center within a market from market-level data. The market-level data for a market geographical area is obtained for customers originating a first mortgage within a predetermined time period and is typically anonymous while providing a credit score and indicator whether the associated customer is a customer of the financial institution and has conducted a transaction within a predetermined time duration. The market geographical area typically contains a plurality of financial centers for the financial institution. The market-level data is then filtered in order to determine a total mortgage opportunity for the financial institution. From information about the financial centers, the total mortgage opportunity is apportioned among the financial centers in the market. Resources may then be allocated to a financial center based on the estimated mortgage opportunity for the financial center.

  • Publication number: 20110161431
Abstract: A chat room system interfaces with an automated processing system. When an interactive query message from a user is addressed to the automated processing system, the interactive query message is passed to the automated processing system. The automated processing system extracts one or more keywords from the interactive query message and obtains response information from a data structure based on the one or more keywords. The automated processing system then returns an interactive response to the user through instant messaging. When the interactive query message is not addressed to the automated processing system, the interactive query message is forwarded to a support group through a chat room system. When the interactive response exceeds a predetermined size, part of the interactive response may be sent through instant messaging and the remainder through e-mail.

  • Patent number: 7966238
Abstract: An investment structure for multiple classes of investors that combines the advantages of both the master feeder structure and the reverse master feeder structure with segregated accounts. In particular, an investment structure is formed in which investors invest in a common fund. The common fund, in turn, opens a common prime brokerage account, having at least three sub-accounts, for example: an unlevered account; one or more levered accounts and a general trading account. The prime broker provides class loans to the levered account and margin loans to the general trading account. To the extent class loans are provided to the levered account, levered investors will participate in the returns on the general account as if the levered investors invested capital plus the amount of any class loans to that levered account. The unlevered investors will participate in the returns on the general trading account on the basis of their capital contributions alone.

  • Patent number: 7966254
Abstract: Method and system for credit decisioning using activity based costing and compartmental modeling. Credit product profitability for a financial institution using credit scorecards is improved by providing an analysis that results in a recommended credit cutoff score for a particular loan product. The selected cutoff score is determined with input including pass and bad rate parameters for the pertinent scorecard, workflow analysis for the loan process, compartmental modeling of the workflow, and activity based costing (ABC) for the workflow. In some embodiments, data related to portions of the analysis for a particular scorecard is saved for re-use, so that a new cutoff score for a particular type of loan can be determined relatively quickly and easily if only the financial institution's costs have changed.

  • Patent number: 7965184
Abstract: Cash handling facilities, such as cash vaults, receive and process large quantities of cash. The cash handling facility may have a plurality of custody points at which the amount of cash being processed is verified, counted, stored, or otherwise processed. Cash handling personnel that are handling the cash may be verified, detected, or otherwise documented as handling the cash. Automatic identification techniques may be implemented to track the cash and cash handling personnel at various custody points within the cash handling facility. A centralized tracking system may use the information obtained at each of the custody points to track, count, and verify the cash while it is located within the cash handling facility.

  • Patent number: 7954699
Abstract: A transaction such as a withdrawal or deposit may be divided into multiple smaller transactions based on an amount of currency associated with the transaction. For example, in a withdrawal, a container in which withdrawn funds are to be placed may be of limited size. Thus, multiple containers may be needed to withdraw the requested funds. Accordingly, each container may be assigned or associated with a different transaction. Each transaction may be created automatically, for example, upon completion of a previous transaction. Additionally, a number of transactions needed may be determined automatically. Thus, a user might only need to initiate the overall transaction process. Initiation may be based on manual input or triggered using an identification device such as an RFID tag, iris scan, card swipe and the like.

  • Publication number: 20110131096
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to apparatuses and methods for providing targeted product offers to customers. For example, in one embodiment, a first entity sends a targeted offer to certain customers. The first entity uses a second entity to perform a service related to the offer, such as an enrollment service. The first entity sends a candidate file to the second entity, where the candidate file includes a list of customers that qualify for the offer. The first entity authenticates the customer and, when the customer expresses interest in the targeted offer, the first entity forwards the customer to the second entity along with customer identifying information so that the second entity can perform the related service. The second entity then verifies whether the transferred customer qualifies for the offer by comparing the customer information to the candidate file. If verified, the second entity can perform the service related to the offer for the customer.
