Patent number: 9080912Abstract: A light-emitting display system has interlocking tiles. In an implementation, each tile has a portion of a clamp that joins with another portion of the clamp on another tile. A tile is removed from the display by unlocking the clamp portions. The tile is removed without affecting the position of the other tiles in the display.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2013Date of Patent: July 14, 2015Assignee: Barco, Inc.Inventors: Marcus Robert Patterson, Grant Arthur John Elliott

Patent number: 8935867Abstract: A light-emitting display system has an alignment mechanism to align or angle light-emitting tiles of the display. A first tile connects to a second tile by joining a first clamp portion on the first tile with a second clamp portion on the second tile. In an implementation, the alignment mechanism includes a replaceable angle adjustment insert that is inserted into at least one of the clamp portions, such as the first clamp portion. When the first and second clamp portions are joined, a surface of the second clamp portion presses against the insert and a desired angle between the first and second tile is formed. The insert can have any angle so that any desired angle can be formed between the first and second tiles.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2012Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Assignee: Barco, Inc.Inventors: Marcus Robert Patterson, Grant Arthur John Elliott

Patent number: 8917391Abstract: Large digital displays for entertainment, architectural and advertizing displays have interconnected display panels with pluralities of light emitting elements. To solve calibration problems, each of the display panels stores measured luminance and chromaticity data for each of the light emitting elements of the panel. The luminance data is independent of the chromaticity data. A central controller can then perform calibration procedures so that the light emitting elements are matched across the entire display.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2013Date of Patent: December 23, 2014Assignee: Barco, Inc.Inventor: Grant Arthur John Elliott

Patent number: 8878864Abstract: Information to be sent over a network, such as the Ethernet, is packetized by using a graphics processing unit (GPU). The GPU performs packetization of data with much higher throughput than a typical central processing unit (CPU). The packetized data may be output through an Ethernet port, video port, or other port of an electronic system.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2010Date of Patent: November 4, 2014Assignee: Barco, Inc.Inventors: Ian Baxter, Chris S. Byrne

Patent number: 8878833Abstract: Embodiments include systems, methods, and apparatus configured to record (A) protocol requests that specify display operations on a screen image and (B) information copied from a display buffer storing the screen image. Such embodiments may also be configured to record states relating to an appearance of an output of the display operations. In some of these embodiments, the copied information is stored in the form of pseudo-protocol requests.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2007Date of Patent: November 4, 2014Assignee: Barco, Inc.Inventor: Rick De Laet
