  • Patent number: 10050800
Abstract: An electronic meeting tool and method for communicating arbitrary media content from users at a meeting comprises a node configuration means adapted to operate a display node of a communications network, the display node being coupled to a first display. The node configuration means is adapted to receive user selected arbitrary media content and to control display of the user selected arbitrary media content on the first display. A peripheral device adapted to communicate the user selected arbitrary media content via the communications network is a connection unit comprising a connector adapted to couple to a port of a processing device having a second display, a memory and an operating system, and a transmitter. A program is adapted to obtain user selected arbitrary media content, said program leaving a zero footprint on termination. The user may trigger transfer of said user selected arbitrary media content to said transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20180192017
Abstract: A method and system for carrying out the following steps: In a first step of a method a first image or picture of a display system is captured when the system is operating nominally. In a second step, a second image or picture of the display system is taken. • Patent number: 9986427
Abstract: A method for transmission of images and/or video over bandwidth limited transmission channels having varying available bandwidth, which uses a classification algorithm to decompose the images and/or video to be transmitted into multiple spatial areas, each area having a specific image type; detecting the image type of each of those areas; and separately selecting for each of those areas an image and/or video encoding algorithm having a compression ratio. The classification algorithm is used to prioritize each of the areas, increase the compression ratio of the image and/or video encoding algorithm dedicated to spatial areas having lower priority in case of decreasing bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20180113663
Abstract: A system, a workstation, and a method with which an operator can simultaneously access and evaluate data available on different computers or sources, the data being displayed on one or more display devices and interaction with the displays being done through one keyboard and one mouse. Furthermore, the system, the workstation, or the method are flexible enough to allow the addition of an arbitrary number of operator's workstations with little impact on the existing system. Additionally, the system, the workstation, or the method allows modification of the number of displays on a given workstation easily. The system, the workstation, or the method also allows to transfer visual data from one display to another as well as tiling an image across several displays easily.

  • Patent number: 9940909
Abstract: A system for generating a virtual display that is displayed on an existing monitor using a memory (e.g., graphics processing unit (GPU) memory, random access memory (RAM), etc.) of a connected device (e.g., a computer) as a frame buffer for the virtual display. For example, the virtual display may use the RAM or the memory of the GPU of the connected device as a second frame buffer to generate the frames displayed in the virtual display. The virtual display is not a physical display and, thus, does not require any additional hardware or physical space. Rather, the virtual display is displayed on a pre-existing display. The pre-existing display is also used to display the frames generated in a first frame buffer.

  • Patent number: 9916795
Abstract: A display having a spatial light modulator for dynamically controlling a luminance of each pixel according to an input signal, the spatial light modulator having a non uniform spatial characteristic, the display also having an optical filter having a spatial pattern to alter the luminance to compensate at least partially for the non uniform spatial characteristic. An electronic signal processing element applies some pre compensation predominantly of higher spatial frequencies for the non uniform spatial characteristic. Such dynamic and optical compensation can enable tuning for different optimizations or for compensating for variations over time. A backlight has an optical source and an optical filter, the source having a color output which has a non uniform spatial characteristic, and the optical filter having a spatial pattern to alter the color to compensate in part at least for the non uniform spatial characteristic.
