Abstract: A crossbow having a stock with opposed longitudinal ends including a forward end to which is mounted a bow and a rearward end for engaging the shoulder of a user, includes a foot stirrup mounted to the stock forward end and interposed between the stock forward end and the bow, such that a user's foot is insertable into such stirrup to support the crossbow for cocking.

Abstract: The fore-end (12) of a crossbow stock is provided with a detachable prod (10) slidably engageable with and disengageable from the fore-end. A releasable lock in the form of a toggle linkage is provided for detachably securing the prod to the fore-end. Hook ends (50) on linkage arms (44) carried by the prod are engageable with pin connectors (52) on the fore-end. The toggle linkage includes an operating handle in the form of a stirrup (36) which projects forwardly of the prod when the linkage is in its locking position securing the prod to the stock.

Abstract: Fluid pressure is exerted upon fulcrum or inner end points of the arms of bows (including crossbows, archery bows, and compound bows). The fluid pressure expands fluid cylinders which pull the inner ends of, or push the middle of, the bent arms of the bow. The resulting increase in tension in the arms of the bow produces greater distance traveled, velocity, and therefore accuracy of the missile, when the string is released.

Abstract: An apparatus for cocking a conventional crossbow, the crossbow having a stock with a first end and a second end. The apparatus comprises a pair of pulleys that are removably attachable to the string of the crossbow, and a cord extending through one pulley, about the second end of the crossbow stock and through the other pulley, so that by pulling the opposite ends of the string the bow may be cocked.

Abstract: A concrete slab is provided with prestressing cables to be post-tensioned upon setting of the concrete. The post-tensioning cables or strands are equally spaced on predetermined centers and are angled with respect to the longitudinal axis of the slab. All of the strands are parallel and are substantially co-planar with all other strands. The angle between the longitudinal axis of the slab and the strands ranges from approximately 2.degree. to approximately 60.degree..This application is a continuation-in-part application of an application entitled "PRESTRESSED CONCRETE ROADWAY", filed July 12, 1977, assigned Ser. No. 814,993, and describing an invention made by the present inventor now abandoned.
