Abstract: A received television signal (such as a television commercial) is substituted out in favor of a local recorded signal on a record containing the substitute signal. A detector detects a command signal indicative of a broadcast program signal to be substituted out. An RF switch is operable to selectively supply the broadcast program signal or the substitute signal to the television receiver. A signal matching circuit is responsive to the broadcast program signal and the substitute signal to match the levels of both the audio and video portions of the substitute signal to the program signal.
