Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for use as a metal working fluid, which comprises A) An additive mixture that essentially consists of a N-Acylsarcosine and a naphthenic acid or a salt thereof, polyalkylene or propylene glycol and further additives; and B) A functional fluid. The composition is useful in a process for protection against corrosion or oxidative degradation of zinc, aluminum or alloys thereof, or zinc-coated steels, wherein zinc, aluminum or alloys thereof are exposed to the composition.
