    Abstract: An exemplary system and method for plasma plating are disclosed. The system may comprise a vacuum chamber, a filament positioned within the vacuum chamber and operable to receive a depositant, and a depositant positioned at the filament. The system may also comprise a platform positioned within the vacuum chamber, a substrate positioned at the platform, a DC power supply generating a DC signal, a radio frequency transmitter generating a radio frequency signal, an electrically conductive path that electrically couples the DC signal and the radio frequency signal to the substrate, and a filament power control electrically coupled to the filament and generating a current through the filament at an amplitude to generate heat in the filament to melt the depositant.

The second device is operable to determine a status of power supply to the second circuit (or other desired parameter in an alternative embodiment) and notify, via a network, a receiving system associated with the electric utility of a power outage at the customer location based at least in part on the statuses of power supply to the first and/or second circuits.

    Abstract: An automatic product (12) expiration alert device comprising a product (12) having a predetermined useful life and a package (14) covering at least a portion of the product (12). The act of opening the package (14) automatically energizes a timing device (16) to begin measuring the product (12) life. The timing device (16) has an inactivated an activated state. An initiator (18) is located proximate the package (14) and product (12). The initiator (18) is operably connected to the timing device (16) and movable between a first position and a second position when the package and timing device (16) are moved apart from each other The timing device (16) remains in the inactivated state when the initiator (18) is in the first position and the timing device (16) is in the activated state when the initiator (18) is in the second position. A signal alert (20) is in communication with the timing device (16) so that it produces a signal in response to the timing device (16) when the product (12) life has expired.

    Abstract: An exemplary device for providing electric service is disclosed. The exemplary device includes a housing, and a meter receptacle having a supply side an a load side. The meter receptacle can connect between a power source at the supply side and a facility at the load side, and can receive an electric load device. A switch connects to the meter receptacle and has a construction power position in which is disconnects the electrical connection between the facility and the power source, and a permanent power position in which it connects the facility and the power source. The device has one or more outlets that can connect to the power source at least when the switch is in the construction power position. The device also has a switch position indicator that can indicate whether the switch is in the construction power position or the permanent power position.

    Abstract: An exemplary system and method for plasma plating are provided to generate a deposition layer on a substrate. The method for plasma plating includes positioning a substrate within a vacuum chamber, positioning a depositant in a filament within the vacuum chamber, reducing the pressure in the vacuum chamber to a level at or below 4 milliTorr, and introducing a gas into the vacuum chamber at a rate to raise the pressure in the vacuum chamber to a level at or between 0.1 milliTorr and 4 milliTorr. In other embodiments, the gas is not required to be introduced. The method also includes applying a dc signal to the substrate at a voltage amplitude at or between 1 volt and 5000 volts, applying a radio frequency signal to the substrate at a power level at or between 1 watt and 50 watts, and heating the depositant to a temperature at or above the melting point of the depositant to generate a plasma in the vacuum chamber.

The connector extends from the lower side of the body and is pivotably attachable to an end of an extendable pole. The tensioning mechanism communicates with the first and second tension members and is operable to adjust the tension on the wildlife protection guard receivable in the slot.

The disturbance energy determination circuitry couples to the voltage transducer and the current transducer. Based upon the inputs received, the disturbance energy determination circuitry determines disturbance energy flowing in the line and estimates a direction of disturbance energy flow with respect to the system as either in front of or behind of the disturbance locating system.
