Abstract: A polypropylene resin composition comprising 40 to 80% of a polypropylene component (A) comprising a copolymer of propylene with ethylene and/or a C4-12 ?-olefin, or a homopolymer of propylene, and 20 to 60% of a copolymer component (B) containing copolymer (B-1) and copolymer (B-2), wherein both (B-1) and (B-2) are copolymers of propylene with ethylene and/or a C4-12 ?-olefin, in (B-1) the amount of units derived from propylene is more than 50% to 85%, and in (B-2) the amount of units derived from propylene is 15 to 50%, the molecular weight distribution is 3.0 or less, and blockness is 1.3 or less; in which composition the amount of (B-2) is 3% or more, and the ratio of the limiting viscosity of (B-1) to the viscosity of (A). is 1.5 or less, and the ratio of the limiting viscosity of (B-1) to the viscosity of (B-2) is 0.8 or more.
Abstract: A fibre for thermal bonding comprising a propylene polymer composition having an MFR value from 4 to 50 g/10 min. The said composition is selected from (i) a crystalline propylene random copolymer or polymer composition containing at least 0.8% by weight of ethylene and optionally one or more C4-C10 ?-olefins and having a melting temperature of 155° C. or higher, a content of fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature lower than 5 wt %, a value of the ratio of the polymer fraction collected at the temperature range from 25° to 95° C. by TREF with xylene to the xylene soluble fraction, higher than 8; and (ii) a crystalline propylene polymer composition having a melting temperature of 153° C. or higher, a content of fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature lower than 10 wt % and containing at least 0.64 wt % of ethylene and/or C4-C10 ?-olefin recurring unit and comprising (I) 20-80 wt % of a crystalline propylene homopolymer and/or crystalline propylene random copolymer containing up to 1.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of alkylidene substituted succinates comprising a step (a) in which is carried out the reaction of a carbonilic compound, a succinic and a base in a reaction medium and a step (b) in which the alkylidene substituted product obtained in (a) is esterified, characterized in that the succinic ester is used in a molar amount substantially equal to, or lower than, the amount of compound carbonilic compound, (ii) the base is used in a molar amount substantially equal to the succinic ester and is selected from metal hydrides and metal and alkoxides, and (iii) the reaction medium comprises an aprotic liquid medium or a protic liquid medium having a Ka, measured in water, lower than that of iPrOH.
