The mobile portion includes upper engaging projections cooperating with the upper to prevent the midsole insert from moving laterally relative to the upper when the midsole insert member is introduced between the mobile portion and the upper.

Abstract: A sole member for an article of footwear, comprises a sheet of resilient material displaying cushioning and memory properties. The sheet has a generally longitudinal cavity with outwardly flared sidewalls that deflect horizontally in the presence of a downward force. The cavity is wider in the heel region and curves outwardly toward the lateral forefoot to create a path of least resistance that causes the center of mass of the human body to migrate laterally and thereby reduce predisposition to excessive pronation.

On the side of the outsole which faces the bearing surface, the insole is provided with a support system comprising a plurality of webs and channels and which is substantially arranged in the metatarsal region. The tread surface of the outsole which faces the ground has two web-like profile parts and a flat support part and is subdivided into individual support regions which are separated from one another substantially by a recess oriented in the longitudinal direction of the tread surface and are provided with channels and webs arranged approximately at right angles to a longitudinal axis of the sole arrangement.

Abstract: An antistatic polymer blend composition and articles made therefrom are disclosed. The composition comprises, based on parts by weight: (a) polyvinyl chloride: 100 parts; (b) carboxylated nitrile terpolymer: 30-40 parts; (c) nonionic antistatic agent: 5-8 parts; (d) metallic stabilizers: 2-5 parts; (e) epoxidized oil: 5-10 parts; (f) primary plasticizer: 50-90 parts; and (g) lubricant: 1-2 parts. A method of protection against the effects or build up of antistatic electricity employing articles made from the composition of the present invention is also disclosed.
