  • Publication number: 20230081786
Abstract: A process for forming extruded products using a device having a scroll face configured to apply a rotational shearing force and an axial extrusion force to the same preselected location on material wherein a combination of the rotational shearing force and the axial extrusion force upon the same location cause a portion of the material to plasticize, flow and recombine in desired configurations. This process provides for a significant number of advantages and industrial applications, including but not limited to extruding tubes used for vehicle components with 50 to 100 percent greater ductility and energy absorption over conventional extrusion technologies, while dramatically reducing manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 11606376
Abstract: CAN bus signal format inference includes: extracting candidate signals from training CAN bus message traffic; defining one or more signals, each signal being a candidate signal that matches structural characteristics of a matching data type and each signal being assigned the matching data type; and generating an inferred CAN bus protocol with which the defined one or more signals conform. Signals are extracted from CAN bus message traffic using the inferred CAN bus protocol, an anomaly in an extracted signal is detected, and an alert is generated indicating the detected anomaly. In another aspect, a transport protocol (TP) signal is extracted and analyzed to determine a fraction of the TP signal that matches opcodes of a machine language instruction set, and an anomaly is detected based at least in part on the determined fraction exceeding an opcode anomaly threshold.

  • Patent number: 11590285
Abstract: Core annular flow is used to enable the subcutaneous delivery of a viscous fluid such as a protein therapeutic formulation. The high-viscosity fluid is surrounded by a low-viscosity fluid, and the low-viscosity fluid lubricates the passage of the high-viscosity fluid. This allows the use of protein formulations that have a higher concentration and a higher viscosity at comparatively reduced injection forces and reduced injection times. Several different embodiments of injection devices that provide core annular flow are described herein.

  • Patent number: 11587646
Abstract: A variational autoencoder (VAE) has been developed to learn a continuous numerical, or latent, representation of molecular structure to expand reference libraries for small molecule identification. The VAE has been extended to include a chemical property decoder, trained as a multitask network, to shape the latent representation such that it assembles according to desired chemical properties. The approach is unique in its application to metabolomics and small molecule identification, focused on properties that are obtained from experimental measurements (m/z, CCS) paired with its training paradigm, which involves a cascade of transfer learning iterations. First, molecular representation is learned from a large dataset of structures with m/z labels. Next, in silico property values are used to continue training. Finally, the network is further refined by being trained with the experimental data.

  • Publication number: 20230049093
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a method and system for converting ethanol to para-xylene. The method also provides a pathway to produce terephthalic acid from biomass-based feedstocks. In some embodiments, the disclosed method produces p-xylene with high selectivity over other aromatics typically produced in the conversion of ethanol to xylenes, such as m-xylene, ethyl benzene, benzene, toluene, and the like. And, in some embodiments, the method facilitates the ability to use ortho/para mixtures of methylbenzyaldehyde for preparing ortho/para xylene product mixtures that are amendable to fractionation to separate the para- and ortho-xylene products thereby providing a pure feedstock of para-xylene that can be used to form terephthalic anhydride and a pure feedstock of ortho-xylene that can be used for other purposes, such as phthalic anhydride.
