Abstract: One aspect of the invention is directed to shooting rests for supporting a firearm having a first portion and a second portion rearward of the first portion. In one embodiment, a shooting rest includes a frame, a front support for supporting the first portion of the firearm, a support member for carrying one or more weights, and a stop for inhibiting rearward movement of the firearm relative to the shooting rest. The front support is coupled to the frame, and the support member is positioned at least proximate to the frame. The stop includes a flexible portion and is also coupled to the frame.

Abstract: A case preparation and/or trimming assembly. The assembly may include a case shoulder engagement surface and a cutter. The spacing between the case shoulder engagement surface and the cutter is adjustable for changing the amount the cutter trims from a case. A case body engaging member may have an adjustable inner diameter for engaging bodies of cases having different diameters. A kit includes a case trimming assembly and a plurality of interchangeable case bearings (e.g., collets and/or bushings) adapted for engaging cases of different sizes for guiding the cases into proper position with respect to a cutter. The case preparation apparatus includes a support member for supporting a trimming assembly of the apparatus in an upwardly inclined orientation. The case preparation apparatus includes a storage container. Associated methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Shooting rests having elevation adjustment assemblies are disclosed herein. One embodiment of the disclosure, for example, is directed to a shooting rest for supporting a firearm having a buttstock spaced apart from a forestock. The shooting rest includes a first base portion carrying a first support for supporting the buttstock and a second base portion coupled to the first base portion and carrying a second support for supporting the forestock. The second base portion includes a body having an opening extending therethrough, and a height adjustment member slideably positioned in the opening. The height adjustment member has a non-circular cross-sectional shape in a plane that is generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the height adjustment member. The height adjustment member is attached to the second support and configured to adjust a height of the second support.

Abstract: A versatile shooting rest has a base with an adjustable riser on its nose. A clamp mechanism holds a riser in place so that a rest on the riser's end can be situated at desired heights. The base affixes to a tripod or other stand and preferably uses a ball stem that allows for rotation. The base supports the butt, handle, or rear portion of the weapon, while the rest on the riser's upper end supports the forearm, barrel, or front portion of the weapon. An insert can attach in this rest so the rest and insert can accommodate various types of weapons. The versatile shooting rest can be adjusted to accommodate a number of weapons used for hunting, including handguns, pistols, revolvers, long rifles, AR style rifles, and crossbows.
