  • Patent number: 7759452
Abstract: A functional aspartate prepared by A) reacting an aziridine with a Michael-acceptor molecule to form an aziridinyl aspartate, and B) reacting the aziridinyl aspartate with an active hydrogen containing compound to form the functional aspartate. The functional aspartate can be used in adhesive, sealant or coating compositions that also include an isocyanate functional material. The composition can be used in a method of bonding a first substrate to a second substrate that includes applying a coating of the above-identified adhesive composition to at least one surface of the first substrate or the second substrate, and contacting a surface of the first substrate with a surface of the second substrate, where at least on of the contacting surfaces has the coating applied thereto. • Patent number: 7759447
Abstract: The present invention is directed to polyisocyanate addition compounds which i) are substantially free from isocyanate groups and are prepared from one or more a) polyisocyanate adducts and/or b) NCO prepolymers, ii) contain urethane groups, iii) contain fluorine in an amount of 0.01 to 50% by weight, and iv) contain ethylenically unsaturated groups in an amount of 2 to 40% by weight, wherein the preceding percentages are based on the solids content of the polyisocyanate addition compounds. The fluorine is incorporated by reacting an isocyanate group with a compound containing two or more carbon atoms, one or more hydroxyl groups and one or more fluorine atoms to form urethane and optionally allophanate groups. More than 50 mole % of the groups that incorporate fluorine into the addition compounds are urethane groups. The polyisocyanate addition compounds are useful in coating compositions that are curable by free radical polymerization.

  • Publication number: 20100178703
Abstract: A single-sensor meter system for dispensing sensors for testing of an analyte concentration in a fluid comprises a container assembly and a single-sensor meter. The container assembly includes inner and outer cartridges. The inner cartridge includes a plurality of test sensors and a mechanical mechanism. The container assembly forms exactly one opening for dispensing the test sensors one at a time. The opening is covered by an end cap so as to assist in preventing or inhibiting moisture from entering the interior of the container assembly. The mechanical mechanism is adapted to advance the plurality of test sensors. The single-sensor meter is adapted to align with and operatively connects to the container assembly. The single-sensor meter includes a test-sensor extraction mechanism adapted to grip a test sensor and pull the test sensor through the opening to a dispensed position.
