Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the production of an alkylphenol ethoxylate involving charging a portion of product from a previous preparation (a “heel”) or an ethoxylate to a reactor, optionally, charging from about 0.2 wt. % to an amount equal to or greater than the weight of the heel of an alkylphenol starter to the reactor, charging ethylene oxide to activate a double metal cyanide (“DMC”) catalyst, adding the alkylphenol starter simultaneously with ethylene oxide for a portion of the process and continuing ethylene oxide addition following completion of the simultaneous alkylphenol starter and ethylene oxide addition. The process of the present invention provides significant improvements in cycle time and safety in producing ethoxylates which may find use in or as surfactants.

Abstract: The present patent application relates to 11?-benzaldoxime derivatives of D-homooestra-4,9-dien-3-ones of formula I: wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-acyl, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl, C1-C4-alkylthiocarbonyl, C1-C6-alkylaminocarbonyl or arylaminocarbonyl group; and R2 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C6-alkyl or C1-C6-acyl group. Compounds of formula I bind more strongly to the glucocorticoid receptor than to the progesterone receptor and are effective antiglucocorticoids. According to the invention, they are suitable for the treatment and/or prevention of symptoms and/or diseases that are attributable to an androgen deficiency induced by glucocorticoids, especially cortisol.
Abstract: The present invention relates to low-viscosity oligocarbonate polyols, their preparation and use. The oligocarbonate polyols are based on diols of formula I below, which are used in combination with a further aliphatic polyol.
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds of the formula (I), in which A, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are as defined in the description, to processes and intermediates for their preparation and to their use for controlling pests.

Abstract: An excellent surface finishing material for indoor and outdoor facilities which ensures a given usable operating time and suppressed adhesion of the surface after curing is produced by reacting an A-side composed mainly of a urethane prepolymer having terminal isocyanate groups and a B-side composed mainly of a polyol containing a crosslinker and a filler. The prepolymer is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate composed of at least 50% by weight 2,4?-MI with a polyol. The filler contains an acid filler having a pH of less than 7.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of polyurethane molded articles in which the polyurethane-forming mixture applied to reinforcing fiber layer(s) or a reinforcing fiber mat includes a gas and a foam stabilizer. These molded articles are useful in automotive and construction applications and in furniture.
Abstract: Compounds of the formula (I) or salts thereof, in which in which R1 is an optionally substituted amino group or analogous group, and R2 to R7 are each as described herein, are suitable as herbicides and crop growth regulators. The compounds (I) can be prepared by the processes described, via intermediates including novel intermediates for example of the formula (III).

Abstract: In a process for the quantitative optical analysis of fluorescently labelled biological cells 5, a cell layer on a transparent support at the bottom 2 of a reaction vessel 1 is in contact with a solution 3 containing the fluorescent dye 4. The sensitivity of analytical detection can be considerably improved if to the fluorescent dye 4 already present in addition a masking dye 9, which absorbs the excitation light 6 for the fluorescent dye 4 and/or its emission light 7, is added to the solution 3 and/or if a separating layer 10 permeable to the solution and absorbing and/or reflecting the excitation light 6 or the emission light 7 is applied to the cell layer at the bottom 2. This process can also be used for improving the sensitivity in the quantitative optical analysis of a luminescent biological cell layer. The separating layer 10 must in this case be composed such that it has a high power of reflection for the luminescent light 11.
