  • Patent number: 7834905
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method for visualizing the environment of a vehicle, especially in the dark. The invention also relates to a night vision system, which especially provides a visual image of the environment or the digital data thereof. Preferably, the visual image is a color image which indicates the visually perceptible objects of the environment. The system also provides an infrared image of the environment or the digital data thereof. The infrared image indicates the infrared radiation radiated by the visually perceptible and/or other objections. In a preferred form of embodiment, a merged image of the visual image and the infrared image of largely identical sections of the environment of the vehicle is represented on a display comprising at least one merged region and at least one region which is not merged or not merged to the same extent or not merged with the same weighting.

  • Publication number: 20100282552
Abstract: A brake disc is provided having ribs which are arranged between two friction rings, extend essentially in the radial direction and bound air cooling ducts by their side walls standing essentially perpendicular to the surface of the friction rings. At least one of the side walls of one, two, three, or five ribs is inclined with respect to the perpendicularly standing ribs in order to avoid disturbing squealing noise. In the case of at least one of the ribs having at least one inclined side wall, the rib thickness measured in the direction perpendicular with respect to the side wall differs from the thickness of the perpendicularly standing ribs. In the case of two, three, or five ribs, of which at least one side wall is inclined with respect to the perpendicularly standing ribs, the angles enclosed between these ribs having the inclined side wall preferably are not all the same.

  • Publication number: 20100282561
Abstract: A method for adjusting the point of engagement of a friction clutch of a step-variable transmission for a motor vehicle, in particular a friction clutch of a dual clutch transmission. The friction clutch is controllably actuated by means of a clutch actuator and at least one synchronizer shifting clutch is controllably actuated by means of a shift actuator for the engagement and disengagement of a gear ratio of the spur-gear transmission. A set-point of the clutch actuator for the point of engagement of the friction clutch is adjusted as a function of a speed gradient value, which ensues from a transitional state with the friction clutch actuated and the shifting clutch actuated, once the shifting clutch is opened. The transitional state is established by setting the clutch actuator and the shift actuator to a respective transitional value substantially at the same time or, at least in sections, in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20100276973
Abstract: A method and a device for adjusting a seat are provided. The method includes the acts of detecting a pressure exerted by a user on the seat via a pneumatic sensor and/or a hydraulic sensor, and adjusting the seat based on the pressure exerted by the user. The device includes a pneumatic or hydraulic lifting element, a pneumatic or hydraulic pressure sensor connected to the lifting element, and a control unit connected to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor detects a pressure exerted by a user on the seat, and the control unit controls the first lifting element to adjust the seat based on the pressure exerted by the user.

  • Patent number: 7821226
Abstract: A method for placing addresses in the memory cells of a rechargeable energy storage device for use in a motor vehicle, each of which memory cells includes at least one sensor device and an individualizing device for storing an address. In order to optimize the placing of addresses in the memory cells of a rechargeable storage device, the functionality of the memory cells is checked using the sensor device in the vehicle, an individual address is assigned to each operable memory cell, and the individual address is used to individualize the sensor values made available from the sensor device.

  • Publication number: 20100264609
Abstract: An arrangement of a roll stabilization system equipped with a split lateral stabilizer and an arrangement of a steering system on a double track motor vehicle is provided. A gear of the roll stabilization system is arranged essentially coaxially between two halves of the lateral stabilizer rotatable with respect to one another, and a motor for introducing a stabilization torque is arranged at the side of this gear and the lateral stabilizer. The steering system has, in addition to a steering gear, with which steering arms can be moved essentially in the transverse direction of the vehicle, a motor, which is arranged at the side of the steering gear and a movement axis defined by the movable steering arms.

  • Publication number: 20100263619
Abstract: The invention relates to a cylinder sleeve (2) for lining the cylindrical wall of a cylinder (A1) of an internal combustion engine. The inventive sleeve (2) comprises an inner wall (3) which is intended to guide a piston in translation and an outer wall (4) which is intended to rest on the cylindrical wall of the cylinder. The outer wall (4) of the sleeve of the cylinder (2) comprises an upper part (6) which is flared toward a top edge (5) of the sleeve (2), which is defined between the inner (3) and outer (4) walls of the cylinder sleeve. The invention also relates to a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine, comprising at least two cylinders (A1, B1) which are each equipped with one such cylinder sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20100265144
Abstract: An antenna array for a motor vehicle includes at least one AM antenna for receiving long wave, medium wave and/or short wave signals as well as at least one additional electrically conductive structural part that is arranged so as to be adjacent to the AM antenna. The additional structural part is connected to a ground potential and/or supply potential of the motor vehicle by at least one filter element, by which the signal frequencies in at least one frequency range that is to be received by the AM antenna are suppressed.
