  • Patent number: 9563194
Abstract: The present invention is a robotic system for maintaining product inventory and dispensing products upon request from a customer or other user. Product items are stored in an inventory storage unit (ISU), one item per bin. Controller logic allows items to be stored in, and retrieved from, arbitrarily-assigned storage locations. The bins hang on rails within drawers. In a replenishment operation, the system transfers empty bins to an operator station for replenishment. An operator fills the empty bins with product items. The system inserts these bins into drawers in the ISU. In a purge operation, the operator enters an identifier of a class of product to be removed. The system moves the bins containing the affected items to the operator station. After the product items are removed, the empty bins are moved to the ISU.

Product items are stored in an inventory storage unit (ISU), one item per bin. Controller logic allows items to be stored in, and retrieved from, arbitrarily-assigned storage locations. The additional items are handled similarly. Once all the items are on the shelf, the robot transfers them to a dispensing chute to the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20160353151
Abstract: A device configuration for determining whether to send an activation notification based on whether a signal can be decoded by a tuner or codec are described herein. For example, a device may include a tuner, activated in response to receiving the user indication, to attempt to decode a signal corresponding to a channel, and a processor to execute instructions that: detect, prior to a start of a delay period, that the tuner is required to decode the signal, determine, during the delay period, whether the signal can be decoded by the tuner, deactivate the tuner after the delay period without sending a tuner activation notification, in response to a determination that the signal cannot be decoded by the tuner, and send the tuner activation notification to a remote server after the delay period, in response to a determination that the signal can be decoded by the tuner.

  • Patent number: 9509934
Abstract: Methods and implementations of using a device interface cable assembly are described herein. In some examples, a modular cable and device interface cable assembly may connect a control system such as a home automation control system to a device control port on a device such as a television. A controller device may use the device interface cable assembly and modular cable to send or receive commands and status messages to or from a remote device. Customized commands may provide direct access to all of the functionality in the remote device, and may avoid the need to navigate a series of menus on the remote device. The modular cable and device interface cable assembly may provide two-way communication between the control system and the remote device. Two-way communication may include verification of command message or gestures, or may include retrieval of remote device status information.

  • Patent number: 9504072
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are wireless systems, apparatuses, and methods for pairing a device and a base station. For example, the disclosed techniques may enable communication between a headphone base station (broadcasting an audio signal over a wireless channel) and a headphone set device (receiving an audio signal over a wireless channel) that establish communications using one or more identifiers. In some examples, a device or base station identifier maintained at the base station or device, respectfully, is validated and reprogrammed when it does not match a corresponding provided from the device or base station. In further examples, the validation and reprogramming may occur in response to a condition such as a charging event (such as the placement of the headphone set device onto a charging station provided by the headphone base station).

  • Patent number: 9462197
Abstract: On-screen display techniques and configurations for audiovisual content input selection and indications in a television, monitor, receiver, or other electronic display device are described herein. An on-screen user interface of a display device may be enhanced with on-screen indications that indicate the position of the respective audiovisual content. For example, a user interface may provide an arrow in the lower-left portion of the screen to correspond to audiovisual input obtained from a device connected to the lower-left portion of the display device housing. A listing of input sources arranged by position relative to the display device and appropriate previews of the audiovisual content from the sources may also be incorporated into the user interface. In further examples, determined labels and human-readable identifiers for the respective input sources may be coordinated with the listing of input sources arranged by position.

  • Publication number: 20160268673
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are antennas and antenna mounts. For example, an antenna mount configured to mount to a flat panel television may include: a post that receives a connector (such as a screw) to mount the post in a mounting hole located in a back panel of the television, a brace that attaches to a connection feature of the post, and a platform that provides a surface on which to receive an antenna. The brace may provide a length sufficient to allow the platform to be positioned above a top edge of the television as the antenna mount is mounted to the television. In further examples, the shapes, sizes, placements, and orientations of the connections between the antenna mount and the television conform to Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) specifications, such as for mounting to designated VESA mounting holes on the hack panel of the television.
