Abstract: A computing device receives, at a scheduler of the computing device, a first write request from a first thread of a plurality of threads. The scheduler schedules access for the plurality of threads across a boundary of an access-controlled region in a memory of the computing device. The computing device determines that a second memory region in the access-controlled region is allocated for storing data copied from a first memory region. During copying, to the second memory region, the data copied from the first memory region, the computing device permits scheduling, by the scheduler, an operation to read from the first memory region for any read requests from the plurality of threads during the copying; and denies scheduling, by the scheduler, an operation to write to the first memory region for any subsequent write requests from the plurality of threads during the copying.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to managing a request in a data system of a plurality of nodes in a network. In one example, a request is received for a transaction of data by a first node in the data system. A second node in the data system is determined based on the request, where the second node is to carry out the transaction. The request is stored into a first request queue at the first node. The request is sent to the second node. A notice is obtained by the first node indicating that information associated with the transaction has been persistently stored. The request is removed from the first request queue in response to the notice being obtained.

Abstract: A touch sensing system is disclosed. The touch sensing system includes a guard signal generation chip operating in a first power domain referenced to a first voltage, the guard signal generation chip configured to generate a guard signal. A touch sensing chip operates in a second power domain, different from the first power domain, referenced to the guard signal, the touch sensing chip configured to sense touch at one or more touch electrodes included in a touch sensor panel operating in the second power domain referenced to the guard signal, and the touch sensing chip a different chip than the guard signal generation chip. A voltage regulator is configured to selectively regulate a voltage of the guard signal at the touch sensing chip.
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for registration of destination identifiers to be used in lieu of geographic addresses. In one embodiment, a user specification of a destination identifier is received. It is determined that the destination identifier is available for registration. A user request is received to register the destination identifier as associated with a geographic address. The destination identifier is registered in response to the user request by creating a stored mapping between the destination identifier and the geographic address.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and a device for d receiving a MAC CE for contention-based PUSCH in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: configuring a CB grant and a CB-RNTI associated with the CB grant; transmitting a first MAC PDU including an identifier of the UE on the CB grant; receiving a CB MAC CE indicated by a PDCCH addressed to the CB-RNTI in response to the MAC PDU transmission; determining that the first MAC PDU transmission is failed if the identifier of the UE isn't included in the MAC CE; and transmitting a second MAC PDU including the identifier of the UE on the CB grant.
Abstract: Circuit boards and methods for their manufacture are disclosed. The circuit boards carry high-speed signals using conductors formed to include lengthwise channels. The channels increase the surface area of the conductors, and therefore enhance the ability of the conductors to carry high-speed signals. In at least some embodiments, a discontinuity also exists between the dielectric constant within the channels and just outside the channels, which is believed to reduce signal loss into the dielectric material.
Abstract: A method for controlling a chromaticity of total light provided by a lighting system includes detecting the total light by a sensor system, determining a component of the total light that is attributable to uncontrolled light, and selecting a calibration for a sensor based on the uncontrolled light, and using the calibration to adjust the output of the sensor system. The calibration tables may be based on spectral responsivity of the sensors in the sensor system and calibration functions rather than physical light sources. Relative intensities of controllable light sources having different xy values are then adjusted to cause the total light provided by the lighting system to approximate a target chromaticity. A daylighting system implementing this method includes controllable light sources with different xy values. The intensities of the controllable light sources are adjusted to augment sunlight to control the chromaticity of total light provided by the daylighting system.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for automatically assigning weights to attributes of media content based in part on how many users actually viewed or listened to the content, as well as how many users “liked” or otherwise indicated a preference for the content. The content items can be any type of audio or visual media content, such as songs, videos, or movies, as well as written content, such as books, articles, journals, advertisements, or magazines. A first similarity score is determined based on a similarity between user preferences for content items. A second similarity score is determined based on a similarity between one or more common attributes of the content items. These attributes are assigned ratings that represent the number of users who consumed the corresponding content. Next, weights are assigned to each of the attributes based on the first and second similarity scores using, for example, linear equation regression techniques.

Abstract: In some examples, a system and method for scheduling communication between a merchant and a service agent associated with a payment processing system (PPS). The method includes obtaining a current state of the POS application to indicate a technical failure. Based on the current state, the PPS determines a time window within which the merchant is available to communicate with the payment processing system or the POS terminal. Prior to establishing communication, if a current transaction is in progress, PPS defers the establishment of the communication channel to another time window, wherein the other time window is determined based on the transaction history or on a merchant-specified time window.
