  • Patent number: 9426139
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to multifactor-based authentication systems. Multifactor authentication occurs during a communication session in response to detecting a trigger event, such as an anomalous condition. Historical metrics, such as performance metrics (e.g., rendering speeds), behavioral metrics (e.g., click-stream behavior), environmental metrics (e.g., noise), etc., can be used as a baseline to compare against metrics for a current communication session. An anomalous condition, such as a current session metric exceeding a threshold, can result in an authentication service transmitting a multifactor authentication request.

  • Patent number: 9426478
Abstract: In one embodiment, a video processing system includes a processor to read a mapping between a peak signal to noise ratio, PSNR, and a video quality metric, M, for an encoded version of a first video portion encoded at full resolution Rmax, read an up-sampled peak signal to noise ratio, uPSNR(Rx) of an up-sampled decoded video portion deriving from the first video portion being encoded at a resolution Rx, which is less than the full resolution Rmax, yielding an encoded video portion, the encoded video portion being decoded and then up-sampled to the full resolution Rmax; and lookup a value, V?, that maps to uPSNR(Rx) in the mapping, V? representing a resolution normalized M value of the encoded video portion encoded at the resolution Rx. Related apparatus and methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 9424696
Abstract: A method of providing visual feedback to a driver based on data collected during vehicle operation. A processor at the vehicle analyzes vehicle data, and determines when predetermined threshold values have been reached for particular parameters. Whenever such a threshold is reached, a visual alert is presented to the driver. Certain parameters have at least two threshold values. When a first threshold value is reached, an alert is presented to the driver, but no data is recorded or reported. When a second threshold value is reached, another alert is presented to the driver, and data is recorded for reporting to a driver manager or supervisor. The tiered threshold approach provides a warning to a driver, such that if they correct the behavior triggering the warning, their supervisor is never notified of that behavior. However, if the behavior escalates, and the second threshold is breached, the behavior is recorded.

  • Patent number: 9426409
Abstract: Traditionally, time-lapse videos are constructed from images captured at time intervals called “temporal points of interests” or “temporal POIs.” Disclosed herein are systems and methods of constructing improved, motion-stabilized time-lapse videos using temporal points of interest and image similarity comparisons. According to some embodiments, a “burst” of images may be captured, centered around the aforementioned temporal points of interest. Then, each burst sequence of images may be analyzed, e.g., by performing an image similarity comparison between each image in the burst sequence and the image selected at the previous temporal point of interest.

  • Patent number: 9423610
Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus has a first scanning optical element having a negative power in a sub-scanning direction. A first light beam and a second light beam enter the first scanning optical element through points of an input surface on a same side of a reference surface, which includes an optical axis of the first scanning optical element and being parallel to a main-scanning direction. The second light beam makes a greater angle with the reference surface than the first light beam. A first angle between the reference surface and a principal ray of a first ghost light beam is greater than a second angle between the reference surface and a principal ray of a first normal light beam and is smaller than a third angle between the reference surface and a principal ray of a second normal light beam.

  • Patent number: 9425429
Abstract: A bank layer includes projecting portions swollen toward in a thickness direction of a first substrate in an adhesion area. A multi-barrier includes a portion, in which a organic barrier is not disposed, on an upper side of the projecting portions. Therefore, it is possible to obtain, in the adhesion area, a portion in which a first inorganic barrier layer and a second inorganic barrier layer directly come in contact with each other. In an organic EL display device including the multi-barrier formed of an organic material and an inorganic material, it is possible to prevent two facing substrates from being separated from each other.

  • Patent number: 9424341
Abstract: Management of information includes analyzing an inquiry with a language processor, and generating a keyword associated with the inquiry based on the analysis. Further, it may be determined whether an inquiry with the generated keyword previously has been received and stored in a memory and, when it is determined that such an inquiry previously has been received, the inquiry is retrieved from the memory. A recipient of the inquiry is assigned based on an inputted recipient or the keyword, and a recipient of an answer to the inquiry is designated. The inquiry is transmitted to the assigned recipient of the inquiry. An answer to the inquiry is received, the inquiry is marked as answered, and the answer is transmitted to the designated recipient of the answer. The inquiry, the keyword associated with the inquiry, and the answer to the inquiry are stored in the memory.
