Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a discovery platform including machine-learning techniques for using medical imaging data to study a phenotype of interest, such as complex diseases with weak or unknown genetic drivers. An exemplary method identifying a covariant of interest with respect to drug response phenotype (DRP) of a treatment is disclosed.

Abstract: An integrated apparatus and method is disclosed for controlling a fluid pump and a valve connected to a coolant loop. The fluid pump for circulating fluid through the coolant loop and the valve positionable between a first and a second position. A controller generates control signals that are transmitted to the fluid pump and to the valve for regulating the speed of the fluid pump and the flow of the fluid circulating through the coolant loop and to position the valve into either the first or the second position.

Abstract: A skateboard truck includes a metal bolt called a kingpin and a threaded fastener, called a hex nut, which when combined hold the two main components of a truck together: the baseplate, which is mounted to the bottom surface of the skateboard deck; and the turning part of the truck called the hanger, which is mounted onto the baseplate by means of the kingpin, and affixed tightly into the baseplate by means of a threaded shaft nut assembly permanently affixed within the baseplate. Two bushings placed along the shaft of the kingpin and on either side of a flange protruding from the hanger hold the hanger in place by the tightening of the kingpin into the threaded shaft nut fastener. The kingpin is oriented such that a threaded portion of the kingpin (on an end opposite a bolt head portion) is generally facing towards a bottom surface of the skateboard deck.

Abstract: Systems and methods of database optimization and distributed computing using thin locator style records are described herein. In some embodiments, a method includes distributing remote agents to a plurality of remote computing systems, generating standardized inventory records received via the remote agents, generating a database of available inventory that comprises complete standardized inventory records, generating thin locator style records for the complete standardized inventory records, the thin locator style records comprising key record identifiers receiving a query, the query comprising a price quote request, generating a standardized query based on the received query; selecting the thin locator style records in response to the standardized query; obtaining the complete standardized inventory records corresponding to the thin locator style records of the key record identifiers included in the price quote request; and providing the complete inventory records to a requestor.

Abstract: A work of incorporating a speed reduction mechanism including a scissors gear into a gear case is facilitated. In a state where the angular positions of gear teeth of a first gear and the angular positions of gear teeth of a scissors gear are made to coincide with each other against the elastic force of a torsion spring (19), these angular positions are fixed by a fixing member (position fixing step). The first gear, the scissors gear, and a second gear are housed in a gear case, and the gear teeth of the second gear are made to engage with the gear teeth of the first gear and the gear teeth of the scissors gear (gear incorporating step). The fixing of the angular position of the first gear and the angular position of the scissors gear by the fixing member is released through an opening formed in the gear case.

Abstract: The system includes an electronically controllable access point device and a server. The server includes one or more processors, which are communicatively coupled to the access point device and a portable device. The one or more processors are configured to determine whether a user of the portable device is authorized to access the access point device based on one or more credentials received from the portable device and retrieve a location of the portable device. The one or more processors are further configured to determine whether the location of the portable device is within a pre-defined geographical area. Upon determination of user authorization to the access point device and that the location of the portable device is within the pre-defined geographical area, the one or more processors direct the access point device to provide access to the user.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes scan lines, signal lines, a scan circuit, a signal output circuit, pixels each having a switching element and a pixel electrode, a common electrode, and a common electrode drive circuit. In a potential reset period to reset a potential of the pixel electrode and a common potential inversion period subsequent to the potential reset period, the scan circuit supplies, to the scan lines, a drive potential to drive the switching elements, and the signal output circuit supplies, to the signal lines, an intermediate potential between a potential corresponding to a maximum gradation value and a potential corresponding to a minimum gradation value. In the common potential inversion period, the common electrode drive circuit switches the common potential between a first common potential and a second common potential higher than the first common potential.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to determine to perform a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission with an antenna port switch operation, wherein the SRS transmission with the antenna port switch operation is performed during an SRS transmission occasion comprising one or more symbols of a slot and apply one or more scheduling restriction rules corresponding to the SRS transmission with the antenna port switch to provide one or more scheduling restrictions for the UE, wherein the scheduling restrictions cause the UE to omit performing at least one of transmission operations or reception operations during one or more symbols of the slot or one or more symbols of an adjacent slot.

Abstract: A novel maize variety designated X14817NT and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X14817NT with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X14817NT through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X14817NT, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X14817NT are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X14817NT and methods of using maize variety X14817NT are disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for modifying content recommendations based on what content items will be available on content platforms to which the user will have access during a trip. Content items to be recommended to the user on a first content platform are identified by comparing characteristics of each available content item to a profile associated with the user. A second content platform to which the user will have access during a particular time period in the near future is also identified. The second content platform is queried to identify content items that will be available during the particular time period. If any content item available on the second content platform during the particular time period also appears in the set of content items identified for recommendation, recommendation of that content item is suppressed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that include a processor executing a program to receive input text, divide the input text into sentences, identify one or a plurality of jurisdiction candidates in the sentences from a predetermined taxonomy to generate a jurisdictions list, transform the jurisdictions list using a type recognition neural network to disambiguate jurisdictions in the jurisdictions list, the type recognition neural network being trained on a labeled ground truth dataset containing pairs of geographic names and tax jurisdiction types, and generate and output the jurisdictions list as a jurisdiction prediction list.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for a scalable pricing engine. A scalable pricing engine is operable in a low-scale mode and a high-scale or scalable mode to process pricing data in response to pricing requests. The pricing engine operates in a first runtime environment in the low-scale mode in which it can service pricing requests up to a threshold number and in which the pricing data can be updated and tested. The pricing engine also operates in a second runtime environment which is a scalable runtime supporting pricing requests above the specified threshold. The scalable runtime and pricing engine rely on a scalable read-only data service which distributes a read-only copy of at least a portion of the pricing data from the primary database, a high-scale cache to reduce access latency, data processing and network resource allocations, and data reduction techniques when processing requests and responses.

The seam closing apparatus includes a first seam closing members for closing the top and bottom portions of the seam and a second seam closing member for closing the remainder of the seam of the duct work.

Abstract: A robotic system is disclosed. The system includes a memory that stores for each of a plurality of items a set of attribute values. The system includes a processor(s) that uses the attribute values to simulate the placement of items, including by determining, iteratively, for each next item a placement location at which to place the item on a simulated stack of items on the pallet, using the attribute values and a geometric model of where items have been simulated to have been placed to estimate a state of the stack after each of a subset of simulated placements, and using the estimated state to inform a next placement decision. The steps of determining for each next item a placement location and estimating the state of the stack until all of at least a subset of the plurality of items have been simulated as having been placed on the stack.

Abstract: A new and distinct Yarrow, Achillea plant named ‘Firefly Fuchsia’, with billowy habit, medium green, moderately incised to parted foliage, and large, bright lavender-pink florets that lighten to light pink on heavily-branched compound corymbs; tall, stiff, heavily branched peduncles with deep fuchsia-pink florets that mature to light pink, beginning in late June and continuing for about seven weeks and repeating if deadheaded. The new plant is useful for landscaping, as a specimen or en masse, and as a cut flower.
