Abstract: Exemplary network alarm message processing systems and methods are disclosed. In an exemplary method, a network alarm message processing system receives a network alarm message provided by a network element of a wide area network, the network alarm message being in a first message format, converts the network alarm message in the first message format to a new network alarm message in a network universal message format, and provided the new network alarm message for use in conducting surveillance of the wide area network. In certain embodiments, the conversion may be based on a mapping data file and a translation rules data file associated with the first message format Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A power amplifier power controller in the power amplifier system monitors various operating conditions of the power amplifier, and controls the output transmit power of the power amplifier by coordinated control of both the input drive level to the power amplifier and the gain of the power amplifier. The power amplifier power controller controls the input drive level to the power amplifier so that the input drive level does not change substantially while adjusting the gain of the power amplifier to maximize the transmit power. The power amplifier power controller may also adjust the input drive level by some portion of the overall change required to the power of the power amplifier, while adjusting the gain of the power amplifier by the remaining portion of such overall change.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that globally optimizes instruction code. During operation, the system obtains the instruction code, wherein the instruction code was previously generated from the source code, and wherein the instruction code is stored along with symbol table information. Next, the system constructs a symbol table from the symbol table information stored along with the instruction code. The system then creates a data structure for the instruction code, wherein the data structure contains a call graph for the instruction code, and wherein creating the data structure involves accessing the symbol table. Finally, the system performs optimizations on the instruction code to produce optimized instruction code, wherein performing the optimizations involves accessing the data structure.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a routing tree may be determined by facilitating communication of a first network and a second network. The first network comprises first switches and uses a first routing protocol, and the second network comprises second switches and uses a second routing protocol. The intersection of the first and second switches comprises gateway switches. A gateway switch enables creation of a second routing tree of the second routing protocol. The second routing tree has virtual links and a virtual root switch representing a first root switch of the first network. The second switches generate minimum link cost tunnels using information from the second routing protocol. A first routing tree of the first routing protocol is extended with the tunnels to merge the first routing tree and the second routing tree.
