Abstract: A method for segmenting a volume dataset is provided. During initialization a level set field within a volume dataset is initialized and an initial set of active voxels is determined in dependence upon the initialized level set field. In an iteration process the level set field for the set of active voxels is updated followed by updating of the set of active voxels. The iteration is continued until the number of active voxels is less than a predetermined threshold. Level set segmentation data are then determined in dependence upon the level set field and provided for, for example, graphical display or storage.

Abstract: A jack assembly including a jack body sub-assembly and a swivel plate. The jack assembly preferably includes the following indicators: (i) at least one jack extension indicator for indication the extension position of the jack; and/or (ii) a disengagement indicator for indicating disengagement of rotational constraints as between the jack body sub-assembly and the load to which the jack is secured (for example, the swivel plate on the tongue of a trailer). In a preferred embodiment, the fixed-engagement indicator takes the form of a marking on a pin that: (i) engages with a swivel plate to rotationally constrain the jack body with respect to the swivel plate; and (ii) disengages with the swivel plate to allow relative rotation of the jack body relative to the swivel plate.

  • Publication number: 20110074613
Abstract: Embodiments include DACs and methods for digital-to-analog conversion. A DAC includes an encoder and a plurality of DAC elements. The encoder maps each of a plurality of bits of a digital input value to one of the DAC elements, and produces a sign indication indicating whether a magnitude of the digital input value is above or below a threshold. Each DAC element produces a DAC element analog output signal that indicates whether a received sign indication and a received bit corresponds to a first state, a second state or a third state (e.g., a zero, positive or negative state). In an embodiment, the DAC uses positive historic mapping information when the magnitude of the digital input value is above the threshold, and negative historic mapping information when the magnitude of the digital input value is below the threshold. DAC elements may be configurable into a Return-to-Zero or a Non-Return-to-Zero mode.

Abstract: A multi-chip module (MCM) is described. This MCM includes at least two substrates that are remateably mechanically coupled by positive and negative features on facing surfaces of the substrates. These positive and negative features may mate and self-lock with each other. For example, the positive features on one of the surfaces may include pairs of counterposed micro-springs, and the negative features may include pits or grooves on the other surface. When the substrates are mechanically coupled, a given pair of positive features may provide a force in a plane of the other surface. Furthermore, by compressing the MCM so that the surfaces of the substrates are pushed toward each other, the mechanical coupling may be released.
