Abstract: A method of receiving and processing a broadcast signal including a Non-Real Time (NRT) service and a broadcast receiver are disclosed herein. A method of processing a Non-Real Time (NRT) service in a broadcast receiver, the method comprises receiving and processing first signaling information including content access information and second signaling information including content detail information, receiving and processing third signaling information including content update information, receiving and storing a content including at least one file through NRT based on the first signaling information and the second signaling information, identifying update availability of the content based on the content update information included in the third signaling information, and receiving at least one file included in the content by accessing a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session transmitting the content when the update is available.

Abstract: Digital content delivery system and method are provided. The system includes a central management system and a delivery machine coupled to the central management system via a network. The delivery machine includes a storage unit including a plurality of DRM (Digital Rights Management) contents, a user interface, and a connection interface. The delivery machine receives a selection of at least one of the DRM contents via the user interface, and transmits order information corresponding to the selection of the selected DRM content to the central management system via the network. The central management system generates a rights object for the selected DRM content according to the order information, and transmits the rights object to the delivery machine. The delivery machine transmits the selected DRM content and the rights object to a storage device via the connection interface.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting the presence of a finger on a fingerprint sensor is disclosed in one embodiment of the invention as including transmitting a probing signal, comprising a series of probing pulses, to a fingerprint sensing area. A response signal, comprising a series of response pulses, is received from the fingerprint sensing area in response to the probing signal. An upper reference signal is generated and finger activity is detected on the fingerprint sensing area by monitoring whether the peaks of the response pulses exceed the reference signal.

The flash memory device includes a memory cell array configured to have memory cells for storing data, and store initial data in a part of the memory cells, a page buffer circuit configured to have page buffers for providing data to be programmed in the memory cell or reading data from the memory cell, a controller configured to control the page buffer circuit so that the initial data stored in the memory cell array are read when operation of the flash memory device is started, discriminate error of the read initial data, and amend the error of the initial data, and an initial data latching circuit for latching the initial data of which the error is amended by the controller.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for etching a metal layer disposed on a substrate, such as a photolithographic reticle, are provided. In one aspect, a method is provided for processing a substrate including positioning a substrate having a metal layer disposed on an optically transparent material in a processing chamber, introducing a processing gas processing gas comprising an oxygen containing gas, a chlorine containing gas, and a chlorine-free halogen containing gas, and optionally, an inert gas, into the processing chamber, generating a plasma of the processing gas in the processing chamber, and etching exposed portions of the metal layer disposed on the substrate.

Abstract: A turbofan engine includes an engine core and a ducted fan assembly, with the ducted fan assembly including an annular cowling and a dilating fan duct nozzle. The nozzle includes continuous nozzle sections with intermeshing tiles. The tiles include drive tiles that are pivotal between nominal and dilated positions and driven tiles that intermesh with the drive tiles and shift with the drive tiles between the positions. The intermeshing tiles cooperatively adjust an orifice size of the nozzle by shifting between the positions and thereby affect the thrust and noise developed by the ducted fan assembly.

Abstract: A ski in accordance with the invention increases in width from a tip or shovel portion to a mid-portion. The mid-portion includes at least a slight sidecut. The ski then decreases in width from the mid-portion to a tail portion. The ski also includes an undersurface with a substantial portion being rockered. A substantial portion of the mid-portion of the ski is not rockered.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for tinting an image by monochromatic tinting using saturation maps for use by an application providing a user interface supporting customizable tinted images. By using saturation map and a monochromatic value map derived from the image and configuring the saturation map to specify areas for tinting, a tint color can be applied to the image by a series of quickly processed arithmetic calculations. This provides a lightweight and high quality method for tinting images within an application without wasting unnecessary network bandwidth or processor resources. Furthermore, the method can be adapted to apply multiple tint colors for multiple tints or use an alpha channel to restore color information lost due to the monochromatic value map. The resulting tinted image can also be used as a texture for a three-dimensional rendering engine.

Abstract: A magnetic cell structure including a nonmagnetic filament contact, and methods of fabricating the structure are provided. The magnetic cell structure includes a free layer, a pinned layer, an insulative layer between the free and pinned layers, and a nonmagnetic filament contact in the insulative layer which electrically connects the free and pinned layers. The nonmagnetic filament contact is formed from a nonmagnetic source layer, also between the free and pinned layers. The filament contact directs a programming current through the magnetic cell structure such that the cross sectional area of the programming current in the free layer is less than the cross section of the structure. The decrease in the cross sectional area of the programming current in the free layer enables a lower programming current to reach a critical switching current density in the free layer and switch the magnetization of the free layer, programming the magnetic cell.

Abstract: In a twin-roll continuous caster configured to cast molten steel supplied to a molten metal pool between cooling rolls into a cast piece by, for example, cooling and solidifying the molten steel on the surfaces of the cooling rolls, the pair of cooling rolls each have ridges on the surface thereof, and cast-piece edges and a cast-piece central portion are generated. Specifically, the cast-piece edges are generated by pressing and bonding lateral edges of one of solidified shells to lateral edges of the other solidified shells, the lateral edges of the solidified shells being produced by cooling and solidifying the molten metal on surfaces of collars provided at lateral end portions of the cooling rolls. The cast-piece central portion contains the unsolidified molten steel between the solidified shells and is generated by cooling and solidifying the molten steel on the surfaces of the laterally central portions of the cooling rolls.

Abstract: A fluid-filled chamber for an article of footwear and a method for manufacturing the chamber are disclosed. The chamber may be incorporated into a sole structure of the footwear and includes a central area and a plurality of lobes extending outward from the central area. The lobes are in fluid communication with the central area and are formed from a first surface, a second surface, and a sidewall. The sidewall joins with the first surface with the second surface to seal the fluid within the chamber, but no internal connections are generally utilized to join interior portions of the first surface with interior portions of the second surface. The fluid within the chamber may be air at a pressure that is approximately equal to an ambient pressure.

Abstract: The present invention is an improved method of selective amplification of certain variants of the target sequence, enhanced by allele-specific suppression of amplification of one or more of the other variants of the target sequence. The improvement is accomplished by providing an oligonucleotide, capable of hybridizing to the desired variant of the target sequence with the lesser affinity than to the undesired variants of the target sequence and optionally, by providing chemically modified primers and hot-start conditions.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a signaling message is received from an endpoint. It is determined from the signaling message whether, prior to sending the signaling message, the endpoint performed network address translation on the body of the signaling message. If it is determined from the signaling message that, prior to sending the signaling message, the endpoint did not perform network address translation on the body of the signaling message, application layer gateway functionality is applied to the body of the signaling message such that a modified signaling message is generated.

Unpleasant amine odor from trialkyl amines which arise from the dihydroxypropyltri(C1-C3 alkyl) ammonium salts is suppressed by the aluminum salt and by careful control of pH conditions.

Abstract: A system and method for improving online advertising auctions. The system includes an offer store configured to received offers from advertisers bidding do display advertisements to users. An estimator engine in communication with the offer store estimates values for each of the offers to produce estimated offer values. An adjustment engine in communication with the estimator engine adjusts the estimated offer values to correct for bias introduced by estimating values for the offers. An auction engine in communication with the adjustment engine selects one or more advertisements for display to a user based on the adjusted estimated offer values.

Abstract: An air conditioner is provided. The air conditioner includes a heat exchanger which exchanges heat with air by passing a coolant therethrough; an anti-freeze apparatus which prevents the freeze of water on the surface of the heat exchanger by supplying energy to the heat exchanger; and a heat generation unit which heats the heat exchanger. The air conditioner can minimize the need for a defrost operation and can thus continuously and effectively perform an air conditioning function even when water on the surface of the heat exchanger is frozen.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for organizing digital images based on locations of capture. On a small scale map of a geographic region that is displayed on a device, an object representing digital media items associated with a location in the geographic region are displayed. In response to receiving an input to display a portion of the map that includes the object, in a larger scale, multiple objects are displayed in the larger scale map, each of which represent a location of at least one of the multiple digital media items represented by the object in the small scale.

Abstract: A thin film having a uniform film thickness is formed without increasing the film deposition rate. When an organic material is supplied from a supply unit to an evaporation chamber and evaporated on an evaporation surface of an evaporation device, a heating filter provided in advance is heated, and a carrier gas is made to flow therein to be heated and is introduced into the evaporation chamber. Organic material vapor thus produced and the carrier gas are mixed; and the mixed gas is introduced into a discharger. Whereas a molecular flow is formed in the discharger in a case that only the organic material vapor is introduced into the discharger, the pressure inside the discharger is raised by the carrier gas so that a viscous flow is formed. Thus, the mixed gas is filled in the discharger and uniformly discharged. It is preferable that the organic material be supplied by a small amount so as not to make the film deposition rate too high.
