  • Patent number: 7739095
Abstract: Roughly described, signal propagation delay values are estimated for a plurality of interconnects in a circuit design. For each interconnect, the propagation delay value(s) are estimated in dependence upon a preliminary approximate determination of whether the signal propagation delay is dominated more by an interconnect capacitance term or by an interconnect capacitance and resistance product term. If it is dominated more by the interconnect capacitance term, then the parameter values used for a minimum propagation delay calculation are obtained assuming a smallest capacitance process variation case and the parameter values used for a maximum propagation delay calculation are obtained assuming a largest capacitance process variation case. If the signal propagation delay is dominated more by the interconnect capacitance and resistance product term, then the opposite assumptions are made. Preferably the approximate determination is made by comparing Rint to k*Rd.

  • Patent number: 7736903
Abstract: A chemical vapor sensor is provided that passively measures a suspect chemical species of interest with high sensitivity and chemical specificity, for use with safety systems. A vapor concentrator amplifies a suspect chemical vapor concentration to a detectible level, for use with an infrared detector. Compensation is provided for environmental variations that may influence the passive measurement of the chemical vapor sensor. Environmental variations may include extrinsic vapors in the surrounding air, or air currents that divert the sample vapor as it drifts from the suspect vapor source to a sampling intake. In an example, ethanol vapor is measured and carbon dioxide tracer measurements are used to calculate an ethanol vapor measurement that is adjusted for environmental variations. In an aspect, a time artifact filter sets the output of the carbon dioxide sensor to match the time dependence of the ethanol sensor, to calculate blood alcohol concentration.

  • Patent number: 7737039
Abstract: Methods are disclosed, such as those involving increasing the density of isolated features in an integrated circuit. Also disclosed are structures associated with the methods. In one or more embodiments, contacts are formed on pitch with other structures, such as conductive interconnects. The interconnects may be formed by pitch multiplication. To form the contacts, in some embodiments, a pattern corresponding to some of the contacts is formed in a selectively definable material such as photoresist. The features in the selectively definable material are trimmed to desired dimensions. Spacer material is blanket deposited over the features in the selectively definable material and the deposited material is then etched to leave spacers on sides of the features. The selectively definable material is removed to leave a mask defined by the spacer material. The pattern defined by the spacer material may be transferred to a substrate, to form on pitch contacts.

  • Patent number: 7739153
Abstract: A system and method for distribution of content items, such as video or other files, can provide for adjustable pricing for access to a content item based on the popularity of the content item. The price for access can be calculated by adjusting a base access price that is determined based on how many times the content item has been accessed. The adjustment can utilize rating and review data received from users who have previously accessed the content item. In some embodiments, rating and review data is withheld from disclosure during a hold-back period whereby the quality of a user's rating can be evaluated by comparing it to other ratings received during the hold-back period. Other incentives can be provided to drive viewing and reviewing content items by providing discounts for users that provide positively-rated reviews.

  • Patent number: 7733658
Abstract: A power platform assembly is provided to convert available AC power into power suitable to power SINCGARS radio components. The platform includes a horizontal base for supporting up to two SINCGARS radios and a carriage assembly supported above the base to provide support for up to two radio frequency power amplifiers. Connectors, internal wiring, and electrical components inside the platform provide power and electrical connections between components within and connected to the platform. Ancillary electronics and connectors provide for remote audio monitoring of communications via an LS-671 external speaker, or equivalent external speaker arrangement. The platform allows various types of available AC power, as may vary across different regions of the world, to power the radios and radio frequency power amplifiers while allowing others in a secure vicinity of the platform to hear incoming and outgoing voice transmissions without draining the batteries powering the radios.

  • Patent number: 7733699
Abstract: A selected word line is biased with a program verify voltage. A predetermined quantity of unselected word lines that are between the selected word line and the bit line are biased with a modified Vpass voltage that is determined in response to a predetermined drain resistance. In one embodiment, the predetermined quantity is all of the word lines. Other embodiments can use smaller quantities. The remaining unselected word lines are biased with a normal Vpass voltage. The modified Vpass changes the resistance of the memory cells, acting as pass-gates during the program verification operation, to mimic a resistance of already programmed memory cells.

  • Patent number: 7730793
Abstract: A venturi flow sensing method, system, and apparatus. A tube or chamber may be tapered from a larger to smaller diameter to create a venturi region within the tube or chamber. The venturi region causes a local increase in flow velocity. The change in velocity creates a local change in pressure which is, in turn, used to drive flow through a parallel bypass tube or chamber. Inside this bypass, a flow sensor can be located, and in some cases, a pressure sensor as well. The flow is then either exhausted back into the original tube or the bypass tube may alternatively dead end. In either case, flow can be measured without causing a significant overall pressure drop in the system.

  • Patent number: 7733206
Abstract: Disclosed is a spiral inductor formed on a semiconductor substrate. The spiral inductor comprises: a metal line forming a spiral pattern on a substrate using conductors having different widths and having open or short-type stubs at one side of each of the conductors; and switching means connection-controlled in accordance with a selection signal for adjusting an inductance and selectively connecting the conductors of the different widths of the metal line. According to the invention, the open or short-type stubs may be formed at one sides of each of the conductors, thereby inducing a parasitic capacitance or parasitic inductance. Based on the inducement of the parasitic capacitance or inductance and selectively connection of the conductors to one another through switching means, it is possible to accurately control a whole inductance value of the spiral inductor, depending on use purposes.
