The baby carrier includes a main body, a baby securing system, and shoulder straps. The waist strap may preferably be detachable and adjustable. In some embodiments, the baby carrier system may be a multi-functional baby carrier system that includes a multi-functional baby carrier configured for use as a car seat insert, where the multi-functional baby carrier includes fastener slits that allow for a car seat harness to secure a baby when the fastener slits are unfastened.
