  • Patent number: 9087424
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for checking the degree of soiling of bank notes. To this end, the bank notes are conveyed along a transport path and illuminated by at least one light source with visible light of the blue spectral range. The light reflected and/or emitted by the bank notes, and/or the light having penetrated the bank notes due to transmission, is detected by means of at least one sensor and evaluated.

  • Patent number: 8797516
Abstract: A method is proposed for separating worn bank notes from a quantity of bank notes in bank note processing machines. A target rate cunfit,0 of bank notes to be separated is prescribed. The bank notes are assessed one after the other. In the process they are counted. Further, the value of at least one physical parameter of each bank note affected by wear is measured during the assessment. The measured value, or a value derived therefrom, of each bank note is compared with a threshold value during the assessment. If the threshold value is exceeded, the bank note in question is separated during the assessment. The separated bank notes are counted during the assessment. The threshold value is adapted after assessing each bank note or after a fixed prescribed number m>>n of bank notes by feedback control. The control parameter is the rate cunfit,i of the bank notes separated up to said bank note, and the set parameter is the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 7743523
Abstract: The device claimed by the invention is characterized essentially in that during the transport of a flat object, in particular, a banknote, through guide elements the deflection of one or two second guide elements from a first guide element is detected via an electrically conductive element by one or more flat air core coils. In the process a magnetic alternating field is generated which is influenced by a change of position of the electrically conductive element. The alternating field causes eddy currents in the electrically conductive element. These eddy currents in turn influence the alternating field. When the flat coils are each a part of an LC oscillating circuit, for example, the resonance frequency and the attenuation of this oscillating circuit are influenced. At a constant excitation frequency the amplitude of the oscillations varies.

  • Patent number: 7621526
Abstract: The invention relates to an individual-sheet stacking apparatus including a frame, a support which is displaceably guided at the frame and which is fitted with a rest surface for the individual sheet stack and having a pressurizing spindle to alternatingly shift and release the support. The pressurizing spindle consists of a pressurizing shaft rotatably supported at the frame, two pressurizing spindle lateral elements affixed to the pressurizing shaft, and at least two glide shafts configured in a fixed or rotatable manner at the pressurizing spindle lateral elements, the glide shafts being fitted with glide rollers. A drive means drives the pressurizing spindle into rotation.

  • Patent number: 6877733
Abstract: The device for the processing of bank notes has a modular design. The device includes a feeder unit having at least one drivable feeding roller, an inlet for supporting bank note-like objects and from which the bank note-like objects are moved into contact with the at least one drivable feeding roller under a pressure force, at least one transport roller, at least one movable pressure roller that is urged in the direction of the transport roller by retro-acting forces, and at least one retaining roller located opposite the transport roller. When a first one of the bank note-like objects comes into contact with the feeding roller under the pressure force, the first one of the bank note-like objects is accelerated such that the first one of the bank note-like objects moves between the transport roller and the pressure roller.
