Abstract: Monitoring and measuring colored samples by the techniques of liquid scintillation counting employs the relationship of absorbance and counting efficiency. A determination of whether color quench correction is required is made. Should a color monitor detect a color intensity which requires color correction, then efficiency correction is performed here. Both the color monitor and the color correction of efficiency are incorporated into a liquid scintillation counter which performs color monitoring, measurement and correction automatically.
Abstract: A cold stable liquid reagent system suitable for use in a Jaffe method for the determination of creatinine comprises:(a) a homogeneous liquid picric acid component comprising picric acid in an amount of no more than about 35 mM, such that the picric acid component remains visibly homogeneous at a temperature between about 2 to about 8.degree.
