Patent number: 11679288Abstract: When using oxygen gas pipes 3, situations can arise, in particular due to slag return and similar dangers, in which the operator must initiate safety measures. Slag return safety devices are known which, in such a case, ensure that the gas flow is stopped by melting a cap 35 of a heat sensor 5. The response of this outlet valve 6 of the slag return safety device can be recognized, for example, by the fact that the inlet pressure of the existing oxygen gas 4 is used to push pins 21 located in the wall 19 of the oxygen gas pipe 3 beyond the outside 27 of the oxygen gas pipe 3, so that they cannot be overlooked as a warning signal. The movement of the pins 21 can be used to activate further signal systems 30 in order to provide additional indications of this movement optically and/or acoustically.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2020Date of Patent: June 20, 2023Assignee: BEDA OXYGENTECHNIK ARMATUREN GMBHInventor: Reinhardt Bayer

Patent number: 9500306Abstract: In a multiple secured coupling device for oxygen lances (1), the male connector (8) of the safety pipe (3), the connection part (18) of the lance holder (2) and also the cap nut (9) have extending safety pieces (10, 11). The male connector (8) can be inserted very far into the female part (19) or the connection part (18) and then located in position by using the cap nut (9). A total of five sealing zones are created and are particularly effective in preventing the escape of highly flammable gases, in particular oxygen.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2011Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Assignee: BEDA Oxygentechnik Armaturen GmbHInventor: Reinhardt Bayer

Patent number: 8298477Abstract: A lance holder characterized by a high degree of safety is equipped with a mounting or a pipe fixing, which safely prevents a rotation even of a bent lance pipe in the lance holder. The clamping head has a fixing part and a clamping part which ensure a punctiform fixation by way of displaceable pressure elements, particularly in the form of spheres. At least three such spheres are disposed across the circumference in a distributed manner, and ensure the safe fixation across a large tolerance range with regard to the dimensions of lance pipes. Said large tolerance region is further secured in that sealing sleeves having a larger inside diameter may be used, since the same are no longer deformed in the longitudinal direction in order to provide the seal, but instead are deformed in the radial direction. In summary the high degree of operational safety is also completed by the association of a chip and/or attachment of a nanocoating.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: October 30, 2012Assignee: BEDA Oxygentechnik Armaturen GmbHInventor: Horst K. Patent number: 5131636Abstract: The lance holder for an oxygen lance has a substantially increased reliability and safety, since a valve disk slidable against the force of a valve disk spring by insertion of the lance is provided in a retaining body between the slag run back safety device and a gripping head. This valve disk is forced from the valve seat on insertion of the lance so that the refinery gas can pass through the lance holder without more. If through some error the lance is released, i.e. by slipping out from the holder, the valve disk automatically closes so that the oxygen gas provided can not flow through. A contact of the oxygen-supply hose with the lance holder attached to it is thus reliably prevented. At the same time the slag run back safety device and the clamping head are formed so that a very compact lance holder results.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1989Date of Patent: July 21, 1992Assignee: Beda Oxygentechnik Armaturen GmbHInventor: Horst Marmann

Patent number: 5106061Abstract: A compact lance, for tuyeres. The lance provides a compact and secure holder by providing a bushing between a collet chuck and a gasket sleeve. This bushing can move axially inside an inner hole of the handle, but cannot rotate in the hole. The bushing acts on the collet chuck to keep it immobile. Twisting of the tuyere is prevented by a slot in the bushing, a radial hole in the handle and a locator screw. By turning the locator screw down to the outer jacket of the tuyere, there is a fastening of the tuyere inside the tuyere holder. There is also a gas and slag holdback valve in the handle and a streamlined quick-action stop valve. A rapid closing valve is also provided and operated by means of an ergonomically designed operating lever.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1991Date of Patent: April 21, 1992Assignee: BEDA Oxygentechnik Armaturen GmbHInventor: Horst Marmann
