Abstract: An example method of video processing includes determining, for a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream representation of the video, that one or more samples of the video outside the current block are unavailable for a coding process of the conversion. The coding process comprises an adaptive loop filter (ALF) coding process. The method also includes performing, based on the determining, the conversion by using padded samples for the one or more samples of the video. The padded samples are generated by checking for availability of samples in an order.

Abstract: A method of video processing is described. The method of video processing includes: performing a conversion between a video comprising video blocks and a coded representation of the video; wherein the coded representation conforms to a format rule, wherein the format rule specifies that context adaptive coding of a block vector predictor (BVP) index of a first video block coded using a block vector (BV) prediction mode and an index for inter mode coding used for coding a second video block is performed by sharing a same context; wherein the BVP index is to an entry in a history-based motion vector predictor list used for generating a block vector predictor for the first video block.

The video processing method includes: receiving an original caption added for a video to be translated by a creator of the video; selecting a translator based on the original caption and a language used by a user on a social network; providing the selected translator with the video to be translated, and providing, in the video, the translator with an interactive interface for translating the original caption in the video; receiving a caption translation of the caption returned by the translator from the interactive page; and displaying, in the video, the caption translation passing assessment.

Abstract: A method, device, and storage/recording medium for image encoding, including: obtaining first coding information for a first coding unit, in a first image, indicating a scheme for encoding the first coding unit into a first bitstream of the first image; determining, based on a relative position relationship between a target region in a second image obtained from the first image and a second coding unit in the second image, a reuse mode for the second coding unit regarding the first coding information, the second coding unit corresponding to the first coding unit, the target region indicating a region in the second image different from the first image; determining second coding information for the second coding unit based on the reuse mode; and generating a second bitstream for the second image based on the second coding information. Thereby, reducing computational complexity of transcoding and avoiding degradation of coding performance/quality.

In one representative aspect, a video decoding method includes determining, for a conversion between a video and a coded representation of the video, whether a syntax element associated with an adaptive loop filtering (ALF) operation for a chroma component of the video is included in the coded representation based on a condition. The method also includes performing the conversion according to the determining.

Abstract: Symmetric motion vector difference coding is described. One example video processing method includes determining, for a conversion between a block of a current picture of video and a bitstream representation of the block, whether a symmetric motion vector difference (SMVD) mode is allowable for the block. Whether the SMVD mode is allowable depends on a derivation process of two target reference pictures of the current picture, which includes a first step for searching a forward target reference picture in the reference picture list 0 and searching a backward target reference picture in the reference picture list 1, and a second step for searching a backward target reference picture in the reference picture list 0 and searching a forward target reference picture in the reference picture list 1. Outputs of the first and second steps are independent of each other. The method further includes performing the conversion based on the determination.

Abstract: A method of visual media processing is provided. The method includes determining a size of a buffer to store reference samples for prediction in an intra block copy mode, and performing a conversion between a current video block of visual media data and a bitstream of the current video block. The conversion is performed using the reference samples stored in the buffer, and in the intra block copy (IBC) mode. The IBC mode is based on motion information related to a reconstructed block located in same video region with the current video block without referring to a reference picture.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for sub-block based prediction are described. In a representative aspect, a method for video encoding includes partitioning, based on a first rule, a luma component of a block of video data into a first set of sub-blocks. The method also includes partitioning, based on a second rule, a first chroma component of the block of video data into a second set of sub-blocks. The first and the second set of sub-blocks include different numbers of sub-blocks. The method also includes performing a subsequent motion prediction based on the first and the second set of sub-blocks.
