    Abstract: A method is for providing plants belonging to the Brassicaceae family with elevated levels of anticarcinogenic glucosinolates. The plants are obtained by 1) the production of a Brassica oleracea plant with elevated levels of anticarcinogenic glucosinolates in the edible parts and 2) the use of the Brassica oleracea plant produced under 1) as a starting material for breeding Brassica varieties with elevated levels of anticarcinogenic glucosinolates.
