Abstract: A rolling apparatus utilizing magnetic forces established between two main rollers so that a workpiece undergoes a uniform and predetermined pressure throughout the rolling process. At least one of the main rollers has a ply unit preferably made from insulated and laminated silicon steel sheets within it to substantially eliminate undesirable heating and counter-rotational effects resulting from eddy currents generated by the magnetic flux passing through the rollers. Passageways are provided for a fluid medium in the apparatus to forcibly move the heat by circulating the fluid medium.
Abstract: An apparatus for coating a magnetic coating material onto a substrate by using a gravure roll and a back up roll confronting with each other. The gravure roll has an internal space where at least two magnetic members are movably provided. Each of the magnetic members are connected to position adjusting means, so that positions of the magnetic members are controlled independent of each other. The position adjusting means has a portion extending within the internal space and a remaining portion extending out of the gravure roll. At the external portion of the position adjusting means, clamp members are provided for changing relative angular positions of the magnetic members.
Abstract: A smoothing method for a magnetic recording media eliminates a gravure pattern therein and a device therefor includes a belt like conveyer running together with a nonmagnetic sheet or tape at the same speed applied above a smoothing device. Many magnets are disposed underneath the conveyer to affect the magnetic field of the magnetic head applied to the magnetic recording solution to orient easily the magnetization axes of the magnetic particles of the magnetic recording solution. The magnets are positioned in various arrangement to increase the effect of the smoothing method. Also, a nonwoven fabric is used in place of the belt like conveyor to decrease friction and remove dust out of the magnetic recording media. Thus, the quality of the final products is much more highly improved than that of conventional products.
