  • Patent number: 4770016
Abstract: A wire straightening method involves feeding a wire from a reel to a wire twisting and stretching mechanism, where by wire straightening elements having working surfaces in each pair of such mechanisms arranged in opposition to each other, the wire is twisted in two opposite directions to plastic deformation of the material of the wire, and simultaneously stretched to within elastic deformation of the wire material. The wire is then received by a take up reel.

  • Patent number: 4686007
Abstract: A polymeric material containing solids in the form of metal and/or cord lumps is partially thermally decomposed to produce a suspension of the polymeric material containing solids in the form of metal and/or cord lumps. Then, the suspension with the solids is directed to a separator, which may be an inclined conveyor, where the solids and the suspension are separated. The separated polymeric material then is thermally decomposed completely. In the separator, the separated solids may be treated by flushing the solids on the conveyor with a preheated solvent, followed by applying steam to the solids and finally drying the solids on the conveyor. Thermal decomposition of the separated polymeric material is completed in a vertical distillation column having a lower liquid phase and an upper vapor-gas phase.

  • Patent number: 4620432
Abstract: A deforming tool having two members of which one is made as a cylindrical roll, whereas the working surface of the other member is made curvilinear. A rod of microwire is fed into a gap between their working surfaces. A rotation drive and a drive for a reciprocating movement are mechanically coupled with the cylindrical roll.

  • Patent number: 4599880
Abstract: This invention relates to methods of making metal fibers and devices for effecting such methods.A method of making metal fibers from spherical particles (6) of a metal powder to be practiced by an apparatus for making such metal fibers is proposed, the method residing in that the spherical particles (6) of metal powder are deformed by rolling each such spherical particle (6) along the path of the process and stretching this particle (6) along its axis of rotation between a main roll (2) and an additional roll (3) of a deforming tool (1). The stretching is executed at a rate exceeding the rate of plastic flow of metal in elongation during reducing the diameter of the deformable spherical particle (6), the additional roll (3) being used as a stretching device. The ready metal fibers (7) are then discharged.

  • Patent number: 4552621
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a reaction chamber provided with a charging hole, a branch pipe for discharging a suspension, and a branch pipe for withdrawing a vapor-gas phase which branch pipe is communicated with a condenser. The apparatus further includes a heater provided with a heat-exchanger for preheating a solvent, said heat-exchanger being introduced into said heater and communicated with said reaction chamber through nozzles adapted for jet feeding of the solvent into the reaction mass.At the outlet of the reaction chamber there is mounted a distillation column communicated with the branch pipe for discharging the suspension and provided in the upper portion thereof with a branch pipe for withdrawal of the vapor-gas phase, while in the lower portion thereof there is provided a branch pipe for discharging a distillation residue.

  • Patent number: 4545229
Abstract: The invention relates to the rolling and drawing of metals. The microwire manufacturing method according to the invention is characterized in that a microwire blank (1) is rolled during the drawing process in opposite directions relative to the drawing axis (B--B). The blank (1) is rolled over the same distance equal to at least one half of its circumference. The method is carried out with the aid of a device comprising a body (3), a die (4) and a mechanism for drawing wire through the die (4). The die (4) is composed of two parts (5 and 6) which interact with the blank (1) as the latter is drawn between them. Each of the die parts (5 and 6) has a working surface (8). According to the invention, the parts (5 and 6) of the die (4) are secured in the body (3) so that they can be set in synchronized reciprocating motion in parallel planes. The working surfaces (8) of both parts ( 5 and 6) of the die (4) are flat and parallel with each other and the drawing axis (B--B).
