Abstract: A handrail system for a moving walkway. The handrail includes multiple handgrasp apparatuses for a moving walkway wherein each handgrasp apparatus includes a handgrasp. The handrail system also includes a propulsion system for propelling the handgrasp apparatuses on a passenger side and a return side of a loop track the handgrasp apparatuses travel around. The handrail system further includes a side housing for supporting the handrail system and enclosing the return side for the handgrasps. Another handrail system for use with a moving walkway. This handrail system includes a handrail belt and a driver roller for moving the handrail belt. This handrail system also includes multiple handgrasps driven around a loop track by the handrail belt.

Abstract: A seat system for a moving walkway. The seat system includes multiple seat apparatuses for a moving walkway wherein each seat apparatus includes a seat. The seat system also includes a propulsion system for propelling the seat apparatuses on a passenger side and a return side of a loop track the seat apparatuses travel around. The seat system further includes a frame for supporting the seat system and enclosing the return side for the seats.

Abstract: A dynamic comb for use with a conveyance system to transition a passenger or object from a nonmoving element to a moving element and vice versa. The dynamic comb can include a upper support element or a lower support element. The dynamic comb can also include a roller element disposed at least partially between and below portions of the upper support element. A method of installing the dynamic comb for an existing conveyance system or as part of a new conveyance system to transition a passenger or object from a nonmoving element to a nonmoving element and vice versa.

Abstract: A variable speed moving walkway system has a plurality of walkway modules, each having at least one movable belt, wherein each of the plurality of walkway modules are positioned at least one of: immediately linearly adjacent or immediately laterally adjacent to another. The movable belt of each walkway module moves at a different speed from the belt of an immediately linearly adjacent and/or an immediately laterally adjacent walkway module. A transition between the walkway modules may include a stationary wedge and at least one rotational brush positioned in a gap formed between the stationary wedge and the at least one belt of each walkway module, and/or a transition T-bar positioned between the at least two walkway modules.
