Abstract: A cassette comprising: a first reservoir arranged to couple to a first actuator for imparting flow to a cell-containing solution in a first direction through a filter; a second reservoir arranged to couple to a second actuator for imparting flow to a cell-containing solution in a second direction through the filter; the filter being in fluid communication with the first and second reservoirs, and when connected to a filtration unit is in further fluid communication to a sample inlet, and a sample outlet; wherein, the cassette is disposable and housed by a connector being removeably adjoinable to the filtration unit, the filtration unit comprising the first and second actuators and one or more valves.

In one aspect, the multiparticulates comprise a core comprising a drug, and a coating surrounding the core. The coating is selected from the group consisting of (i) a water-permeable, substantially drug-impermeable coating, and (ii) an anti-enteric coating.

Abstract: An osmotic dispenser comprised of (1) a water permeable membrane forming part or all of the walls of an enclosure surrounding (2) an active agent, and in some cases (3) an additional compound known as an osmotic attractant which together exhibits an osmotic pressure against water. When placed in an aqueous environment water is osmotically drawn into the enclosure by the combined action of the agents (2) and (3) which distends and swells the enclosure until the membrane or some other part of the enclosure wall reaches the point of ultimate elongation and a portion of the wall yields and ruptures releasing the contents of the enclosure to the environment.
