  • Patent number: 4944281
Abstract: The circuit according to the invention comprises a hysteresis comparator 9 connected to a transistor 2 controlling the current flowing in an inductive load 1. The voltage taken across the terminals of a measurement resistor 3 is compared with a reference voltage established by a source 6. According to the invention, a feedback loop 10 establishes a proportional action of the transistor 2 on the current in the load 1 when the voltage at S exceeds a predetermined threshold. In this way an oscillation is obtained between two values on either side of a nominal value, these two values being associated with the thresholds of the hysteresis comparator. Application to the production of an integrated circuit for the control of the ignition coil of an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 4899281
Abstract: An encoder delivers a pulse input signal in phase with equal angular steps of a rotary component, such as a toothed wheel driven by the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. A missing tooth defines a reference position at which a synchronizing signal is also delivered. A counter is incremented by the pulse input signal and is reset by the synchronizing signal. A comparator compares the count in the counter with a number in a memory circuit to deliver a signal for triggering an event when the count in the counter coincides with the number in the memory circuit. The counter comprises a first counting circuit providing the least significant outputs of the counter and a second counting circuit providing the most significant outputs. The first counting circuit is reset by the input signal, and the second counting circuit by the synchronizing signal.

  • Patent number: 4825383
Abstract: The invention belongs to the field of dimensional metrology. The process according to the invention makes use of a hot wire sensor (1) passing through the free surface of the liquid. The wire is heated by a joule effect up to a temperature To. The supply to the wire is then interrupted for a predetermined time interval .tau.. The current passing through the wire at the two instants forming the bounds of this interval is determined by means of an A/D converter (3) which feeds a control and computing unit (4). From these current measurements this unit derives a value which represents the liquid level.

  • Patent number: 4797582
Abstract: The invention relates to the transmission of logic signals. The circuit comprises a port D connected to a line for the transmission of unipolar logic signals and a port (D+, D-) connected to a pair of wires for the transmission of differential logic signals. Current generators (T4, T5) send a positive differential signal when a unipolar "low" logic signal is applied to port D. When the differential signal received at (D+, D-) must be transmitted on the D port by a "low" level, the signal representing the low level remains higher than the voltage level V.sub.L1 below which the voltage generators are activated, in order to prevent any blockage of the circuit by looping of the signals within the circuit.Application to the multiplexing of the flow of data processed in an automobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4764924
Abstract: This interface enables the integrated circuit with which it is associated to be placed in a test configuration by applying to its test input terminal (2) a voltage higher than the power supply voltage (V.sub.cc) of the circuitry. In the rest state, the interface then supplies a low logic level to its output terminal (5). If the test command voltage is applied, this level changes state. The interface comprises, in particular, two transistors (M.sub.1, M.sub.2) of opposite types of conductivity which are fed by a constant current source (10, M.sub.5, M.sub.6). The interface switches over when the input transistor (M.sub.1) is put into the conducting state by the test command voltage so as to divert a fraction of the current flowing in the second transistor (M.sub.2).The input terminal (2) can at the same time be a functional input terminal of the integrated circuit.
