  • Patent number: 5193345
Abstract: The distributor is used for supplying a fluid coming from a source of fluid under pressure and under a pressure which is a function of the pressure of a control fluid. The distributor comprises, in a bore (3) made in a body (1), a double valve consisting, on the one hand, of a first piston (21), one end of which defines with a first plug (5) a control chamber (23) receiving the control fluid, while the other end (27) is pierced with a conduit (29) connected to a reservoir of fluid under low pressure (11), an annular chamber (31) surrounding the first piston (21) and being connected to the consumer circuit of the distributed fluid, and, on the other hand, of a disk (33) forming a shutter and resting on a circular seat (35) stationary relative to the body (1) by way of a return spring (43).

  • Patent number: 5144878
Abstract: A hydraulic actuator (1) with automatic wear take-up, is formed with a first piston (17) sliding in a blind bore (13), a second piston (33) in a bore made in the first piston, and an output rod (3) bearing on the second piston. A first chamber (27) is formed between the blind bore and the first piston and a second chamber (37) is formed between the bore and the second piston. A piece (19) having a shoulder (23) is fixed, on its side of smaller diameter, to an end (21) of the first piston confronting the first chamber, forming an annular space. The annular space contains an annular gasket (39) and stop (41), so as to divide the first chamber into two volumes (43, 45), one (45) connected to a pressure generator (7) and the other (43) communicating with the second chamber through a duct (47) made in the end of the first piston. The two volumes communicate with one another, at rest, via a passage provided between the gasket, the stop and the piece.

  • Patent number: 5103644
Abstract: A bifluidically controlled distributor of a fluid coming from a first source (11) of fluid under high presure, comprises, in a blind bore (1) made in a body, a sliding piston (3) defining, with a plug of the bore, a first control chamber (5) connected to a first source of control fluid, a slide (9) ensuring communication between the first source (11) of fluid under high pressure or a reservoir (13) of fluid under low pressure, and an outlet conduit (15) for the distributed fluid. The bore (1) and the piston (3) are stepped correspondingly so as to determine between them a reaction chamber (25) connected permanently to the outlet conduit (15) and a second control chamber (21) is formed between the slide (9) and the piston (3) and is connected to a second source of control fluid.

  • Patent number: 5079991
Abstract: The brake booster comprises a housing (10) in which is displaced a driving piston (12) having a hub (14) and separates a front chamber (16) from a rear chamber (18), the front chamber (16) is connected to a source of fluid under a first pressure, the rear chamber (18) is capable of being connected to a source of fluid under a second pressure, and the driving piston (14) is capable of being displaced from a rest position in response to the establishment of a difference between the first and second pressures between the two chambers (16, 18) and the pressure difference is controlled by a valve mechanism (20) associated with input control members (34, 62, 60). The connection (62) between the rear chamber (18) and the source of fluid under the second pressure is made by the input control members (34, 62, 60).

  • Patent number: 5052760
Abstract: The hydraulic proportioning valve comprises a body (10) having a stepped bore (12) which receives a cylindrical piston (22) biased toward a rest position by a spring (40), and an inlet (16) and an outlet (14) communicating with the bore (12). The piston (22) includes a part (30) with an adjacent valve member (42). The valve member (42) includes a central opening into which the part (30) may be received slideably and sealingly. The sealing engagement between the part (30) and valve member (42) is maintained even though a pressure differential across the valve member (42) may cause the valve member (42) to be displaced in the bore (12).

  • Patent number: 4815293
Abstract: A vacuum brake booster and hydraulic master cylinder arrangement with lost-motion-eliminating abutment between the vacuum booster push rod and the master cylinder piston. The vacuum booster has an input rod, a valve, a power piston, and an adjustable length output push rod. A first spring biases the power piston to the rest position but exerts a force less than the counter-force exerted by atmospheric pressure on the input side portion of the power piston extending from the booster housing. A second spring urges the cylinder piston into contact with the push rod. This second spring is stronger than the first spring so that when vacuum is applied in the rest position the action of the two springs exerts a net force sufficient to balance the force exerted on the power piston exterior by atmospheric pressure and also maintains the push rod in constant contact with the master cylinder piston to minimize the overall actuation lost stroke of the assembly.
