  • Publication number: 20010022040
Abstract: A shell, particularly for a ski boot, constituted by a box-like main body which is open in an upward region and is rigidly coupled to a sole. The shell has, at the foot instep region, two arc-like partially overlapping plates, each of which is rotatably pivoted to the shell by pivots arranged laterally to the shell on an axis which is approximately parallel to the resting plane of the sole. The rotation of the two plates is limited by a pivot and slot connection arranged in the region in front of the heel.

  • Publication number: 20010007386
Abstract: A skate which includes a shoe having a first frame and a second frame for supporting one or more wheels. The first frame and the second frame, or the sole of the shoe, are articulated in a region which lies approximately below the metatarsus of the foot in order to allow better flexing. An adjustable fork means is also provided between the first frame and the sole and is adapted to force the planar arrangement of the shoe once thrusting has ended.

  • Patent number: 6233845
Abstract: A skate with improved comfort, comprising a frame for supporting two or more wheels, with which a shoe is associated. The shoe has openings which are connected to the outside or to a vapor-permeable surface, and an innerboot, or upper, which comprises a phase-change material that releases or absorbs heat in preset temperature ranges.

  • Patent number: 6199668
Abstract: A device for regenerating a brake, particularly for skates having a supporting frame for two or more wheels and a support for a pad which has an initially intact surface which interacts with the ground during braking. A sensor for detecting the degree of wear of the surface of the pad is associated with the support and is connected to a sprocket suitable to modify the initial position of the pad. Advantageously, this modification can be achieved by restoring an intact condition for the surface that interacts with the ground. The device allows to achieve optimum braking without requiring any intervention on the part of the user for pad replacement.

  • Patent number: 6176553
Abstract: A wheel for skates comprises a hub which is rotatably associable with a pivot and with which a tread is associated. A plurality of grooved regions are formed in the lateral surfaces of the tread and run gradually toward the median plane of the tread, so as to allow optimum stability when the lateral inclination assumed by the skate increases.

  • Patent number: 6158748
Abstract: An improved skate with in-line wheels or with an ice-skating blade, includes a shoe which is articulated in the metatarsal region so as to form a sole which is divided into a front part and a rear part. The front part is rigidly associated with a first supporting frame for the wheels or for a blade, while the rear part is slidingly associated with a second supporting frame for the wheels or for a blade. The first and second frames are mutually articulated approximately in the region below the metatarsus, allowing to improve the adaptation of the skate to the natural movement of the foot.
