    Abstract: A cross country ski having a running surface profiled at least in the middle area of the length of the ski by a plurality of indentations in a fish scale-like pattern and arranged in transverse offset rows, the indentations having curved or arcuate leading edges and bottom surfaces arranged such that the deepest portion of the indentations is adjacent the apex of the curve, and the bottom surfaces may have several different configurations or profiles.
